Newport’s Kyle Ashley represents NH and Newport in the New Balance nationals track and field meet.. Kyle Ashley secured 21st in the nation by throwing 176’ in the javelin at New Balance nationals in Sunday June 16th. He was able to cap off his high school career by qualifying and competing at nationals at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Kyle will be attending the Naval Academy this summer and will continue his track career at the prestigious academy. Hats off to Kyle!

Aaron Fellows Decathlon debut puts him in 20th for the state just missing Newports school record.. Tyson Diapola (44th) and Bryce Palmer ( 57th) had stellar days for the tigers at Nashua south high school in a field of 120 athletes.. Aaron scored 4320 points with his most outstanding performance came at the end of the meet with a 4:35.57 1500 meter run.. for 6th place in the field. Tyson Diapola was one of the highest scoring freshman in the field by securing 3647 points on the day.. Bryce Palmer, distance guy, shocked many by throwing 118’ in javelin for a 19 th place finish in the event.. Great job by the boy tigers!

Congrats to Maddox Lovely for becoming the state Heptathlon track and field champion.. Maddox scored 3982 points at the meet saturday and sunday at Nashua South High school.. She came in 2nd as a freshman and third as sophomore and finally was able to top the podium.. She set 4 PRs on the day 26.52 (200), 90’ javelin, 26’ 10” shot put, 2:31.52 800 meter.. 2nd place was Hayden Adams from Winnacunnet and third was Amelia Lefebvre of Kearsarge..

Maddox Lovely was able to capture 7th place in the 100 Hurdles at the New England track championships at UNH! She was able to make the final and ran a PR of 15.17.. She also was 19th in the Long Jump and 20th in the 300 hurdles.. Maddox finished her season next weekend as she competes on the State of NH Heptathlon Championships.

Kyle Ashley earns ALL New England status by placing 4th at The New England track Championships at UNH.. In a bit of a poorly timed downpour, Kyle was able to throw 173’ 2” to claim 4th place, the highest Newport track ranking in at least the last 30 years.. Kyle finishes up his season next week by competing at New Balance
nationals in Philadelphia.. What a season! Congrats Kyle.

Meet of Champions update.. UNH, Sunday June 2nd Maddox Lovely and Kyle Ashley qualified for the New england Championship meet for the third year in a row.. Kyle threw for a third place finish in the javelin at 167’ 6” while grabbing 7 th in the shot put at 46’ 3”. Maddox had a spectacular day grabbing 3rd in Long Jump at 17’ 2”, 3rd in 100 hurdles at 15.21, and 5th in 300 hurdles at 46.86.. All three PRs and NHS records ( just eclipsed Eliza Bates in 300h by .03). Aaron Fellows jumped 5’ 10”for an outstanding 7 th place in high jump just missing the top 6 cutoff for new englands. Sophomore Callie Dixon threw the shot to an 11th place finish in her first year of the sport.. Junior Kamden Pollari notched 13 th in the boys shot as well.. 4 out of 5 athletes will be back next year as Kyle graduates NHS to join the Naval Academy to continue his track career.

Newport junior trackster Maddox Lovely won her 7th state title in 4 years by winning 3 events at the D3 state meet in Winnisquam! Maddox posted victories in the 100 Hurdles (15.63), 300 Hurdles (47.49) and Long Jump (16’7”). She also snagged 3rd place in the 100 meter dash and scored 36 points for the tigers who captured 3rd place. Congrats Maddox.. This performance earns her a trip to the Meet of Champions at UNH on June 2nd.

Kyle Ashley 3 peats with a bomb of a javelin throw! Kyle has won a state championship in the javelin in 10th grade, followed up by a state championship in the shot put his junior year.. This year Kyle won both at the D3 2024 State Championship in Winnisquam. He won the shot put with a throw of 47’ 4”, and chucked the javelin 190’ 10” to also win, which was also Division 3 Meet record and increased his school record.. Kyles toss qualifies him for Nationals in June after he competes at MOC and New Englands.. Bravo Kyle.. Thanks to ChrisClicks for photos! He also threw for 4th place in the discus to secure 24 points for the team.

Big days had by Newport athletes at States at Winnisquam- Sophomore Callie Dixon grabbing 4th with a shot put toss if 34’ 2”. Aaron Fellows high jumped his way into the Meet of Champions with a leap of 5’ 10” and a second place finish. Emma Oconner ripped the Javelin 93’ 9” for a 4th place and seasons best. Freshman Tyson Diapola leapt to a 6th place finish with a PR 5’ 8” jump.. Taylor Fellows surged to a 6th place finish in the 800, with a 2:28. Kamden Pollari also qualified for the meet of Champions throwing 42’ 8.5” and a second place finish behind Kyle. Newport traveled with 20 athletes to state meet in Winnisquam.

Skylar Nelson grabs the Discus record! At the state meet in Winnisquam Skylar Nelson saved her best for the biggest meet launching a 97’ 0” toss eclipsing the 1990 school record of 96’ 5” held by Stacy Burroughs (King). Congrats Skylar!
