We are beyond thrilled to announce that Jefferson alumna and basketball legend Marlene Barton is returning to lead our Varsity Girls Basketball program as Head Coach! 💙🐻

Before stepping up to guide our student-athletes, Marlene cemented her place as one of the most explosive talents in program history. Her high school resume is nothing short of incredible:

🎯 1,401 Career Points (Top 6 in region history upon graduation)
🏹 173 Career 3-Pointers
🔥 71 Three-Pointers in a Single Season (Region record set during her junior year)
💥 Single-Game Records: A career-high 38 points and an unstoppable 8 three-pointers in a single game
📊 Senior Season Dominance: Averaged 20.0 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 4.0 steals per game

Marlene knows firsthand what it takes to put in the early morning work, wear the Jefferson jersey with pride, and compete at the highest level. Her passion for the game, commitment to personal growth, and deep roots in our community make her the exact leader our young women need.

Day 1 complete. Girls are having fun and competing hard. Missed a few players on the court - will get them tomorrow. The last few pictures sum everything up so far. Girls got knocked out of the OT tourney and stayed / supported the other teams. This is what growing the game is all about. 💙💛
