If you aren’t trying to be an unguardable scoring playmaker with a perfectly balanced game theory optimal attack strategy then what are you doing?

Unpopular opinion: If you are really about it and won’t stop til you’re a grandmaster then you just don’t need to care about what your coach thinks as you plot out the player you want to become. Real ones get it anyway. Don’t let anyone put a ceiling on you. Basketball is a game that can be beat.

You must hit benchmarks in 5 dribbling drills randomly selected from a group of 20.

When you’re with me we need to use the time on things you can’t do without me. These drills are all take home work.

Dunking means NOTHING

Kid sends me a video of his first dunk and 3 days later I try to teach him a hop cross that’s actually going to help his game and he tells me he can’t do it because he hurt his back.

Same story over and over. I was the same. Soon as a kid grazes rim for the first time he enters the dunking obsession phase of his life that only ends when his knees and his back force him to sit.

Let it go younglings. Just let it go.

Dunkers are common. Players that don’t derive their sense of self worth from meaningless BS are more rare.

Time is a tool to bring awareness everywhere. For your body it’s time under tension. For your mind and your soul it is the same just the tension is in a different form. You can try to evade it forever but the conflict will always manifest eventually.

Why this is here, I do not know, and it is blasphemous to have it outside in the elements—but until I find a safe home for it, it’s a huge blessing and an interesting addition to the story.
