📢🚨 "Man of the Match"🚨📢 during Tuesday night's hard fought battle against the Milan Bulldogs goes to Mr. Chase Cashion. 🎉
The freshman goalie has jumped off the stat sheet and into the heads of shot takers across West Tennessee as he blocks his second penalty kick during the match against Milan. That brings his record to 2/2 against the dreaded PK, which is no small feat and an excellent way for any young goalie to start his High School career.
Hunter Anderson has kept watch over the net diligently throughout the past few seasons, but due to his talents on the attack and the need to add a shooter upfront, Hunter's number was called to take on another position. The multi-talented Hunter Anderson didn't take long to adjust as he immediately began his goal scoring campaign. He grabbed his first goal within 20 minutes of play during the first game in the new position and then following up with a second goal in the game against Bolton. The new dynamic has boosted the Choctaw attack, and positioned them nicely for the years ahead allowing Mr. Cashion to get the necessary minutes of real-time game experience.
Chase has been given an opportunity to shine, and he has taken it on with great maturity. Mature as he may be, he is actually the ever-so-slightly younger twin brother to Cooper Cashion. Cooper, or "Super Cooper" as he is quickly becoming known as, is a talent that is working his way onto the scene as well. Coop has shown several flashes of greatness and is expected to be an impact player as he begins to see more and more playing time each week. Cooper has a wicked shot and doesn't mind pulling the trigger from a distance. He showed his willingness to put points on the board by finding the back of the net scoring from the edge of the box last week in the JV game against Union City.
💪Sibling rivalry pays off for both young men. Super Cooper does not let up on his twin brother providing him plenty of challenging shots to block during practice. It's no wonder Chase has done so well this early on. The team believes Chase Cashion is the future of Goal Keeper at Dyer County. The Choctaws appear more than comfortable with the new changes and speak optimistically about the opportunities ahead. With Tyler Fowlkes, the well known leading scorer and Bethel Commit, returning from injury soon and paired up with the "goal-keeper" turned "goal-scorer," things are beginning to get interesting.
🧨Don't miss the chance to see all these young men in action. April 11th and 12th the Choctaws square off against several local rivals as they host the "West-Tennessee Tail-Tourney." An event full of excitement for anyone who likes to eat good food, play fun mini-games, spend time with family and friends, and of course- watch the Choctaw Soccer Team play at home.
