Saturday night saw RRT return to Little Muskie Speedway for night 2 of the Mow Down ALS event for Mowers and Karts.
The night also marked the debut of Kayla Finigan in Stock Appearing racing alongside her Dad Jason Finigan.
The track was in great shape and the weather was nice. The folks that put on the event ran a great program. They added to it with a 50/50 drawing, a raffle as well as having 3 different food trucks at the track Friday night and another Saturday. Then they rolled in with a full breakfast for everyone on Saturday morning and they only asked you to donate to ALS.
The Champion Performance Products karts were hooked up and on a rail. We never had to adjust them. Thanks to a lot of education by our friend Josh Corley and some tips from others on tires, our tires were on point. Jerry Stevens helped out with some thoughts on setup as well for the SSR Stock Appearings.
We were given so many compliments on the looks of our A&M Fiberglass Manufacturing, LLC bodies and we want to thank Five Three Titanium for sponsoring us and for their great products. They combined so that at least this weekend we were both good looking and fast.
Tonight saw 7 karts in the class. RRT can’t seem to draw a good pill at starting so the heat race found Kayla starting 5th and Jason starting 6th.
They both drove really well and pulled a 2nd and 3rd. We will link in the videos later.
The feature came and they both did a great job of driving. To say that finishing 1 and 2 was incredible is an understatement. I think Team Mom Misty Finigan is scheduled to have her feet touch the ground around Friday. She was bouncing in place after the race, and no it wasn’t a P*e P*e dance. Kayla, we should have moved you up to Stock Appearing long ago.
To wrap up, I want to shout out to Steven Crissinger. It was a pleasure sharing a pit area with you this weekend and for getting a chance to meet your family. Great people all around.
