Your Career Has Receipts. Keep Them.
Don’t wait until review season to remember how valuable you’ve been.
Create a Career Impact File and update it as you go.
Keep track of the results you delivered, goals you exceeded, problems you solved, processes you improved, money or time you saved, positive feedback you received, leadership moments you stepped into, new skills you gained, and the times your work made something better.
Because being good at what you do is only part of the equation.
You also need to be able to communicate your value.
When it’s time for a performance review, promotion, salary conversation, new opportunity, interview, or career pivot, don’t rely on memory.
Bring the receipts.
Your accomplishments aren’t bragging.
Your results aren’t “just part of the job.”
And advocating for yourself isn’t arrogance.
It’s career ownership.
Track your growth. Know your impact. Speak confidently about your value.
