Did you know the story behind the Ukrainian map on our T-shirts or this year’s medal?
The idea for the medal came from 10-year-old Ukrainian Tim Bublyk, a member of Ukrainian Running Club Miami. Tim shared his vision with our club, and we were proud to bring his idea to NYC event as a special commemorative medal celebrating important anniversaries for both Ukraine and the United States 🇺🇦🇺🇸
Map on our T-Shirt tells a story of its own. This meaningful design belongs to our club member Olha K***s, who has a special talent for bringing Ukraine to life through her creativity and turning our heritage, traditions, and love for our homeland into beautiful visual stories.
The map represents traditional embroidery patterns from Ukraine’s 24 regions (oblasts) and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Each region of Ukraine has its own distinctive embroidery traditions, reflected in different colors, ornaments, techniques, and motifs. From geometric designs and floral elements to unique combinations of colors and stitches, these patterns capture the character, history, and cultural identity of each part of Ukraine.Together, the T-shirt and medal are more than just keepsakes from the Vyshyvanka Run 2026- they celebrate Ukrainian heritage, creativity, unity, and the next generation carrying these traditions forward.
Slava Ukraïni!💙💛
