Some structures weren’t built for you. They were built despite you. But running through them, you understand it holds its position through every season, every storm, because of the way it was built, not because of how it feels on any given day. That’s the part most people miss about training too.
July is when the structure matters most. The miles stack, the heat lingers, and the race still feels far enough away that the daily work loses its story. Motivation comes and goes. Structure doesn’t. It’s the framework that holds the work together when nothing else will, and it’s the only thing that reliably produces the result on the other side.
You’re not chasing a feeling. You’re building a structure that holds.
