This is what a parent of one of my aau teams just messaged me. teaching the game of basketball ๐Ÿ€ the best way I know how. Even though I got the praise it wasn't all me, it was ALL of my ancestors from the past that blessed me with the desire to be the best I can be at everything I do. Yes, it was me getting up at 4am to be at a training at 5am. Yes, it was me spending time and money on classes, trainings, and seminars. Yes, it was me at practices, training sessions with kids, adults and players. It was in my dna as my father at 10 years old had to tar his parents home(having no shingles ๐Ÿ’ฐ to place over tar) to stop the rain from coming through, cutting grass with a sling blade, and feeding all of the dogs after school. It was because of what I saw growing up watching my father get up at 5am when he just got off at 1am 4 or 5 days a week. It was my great grandmother working at a bakery every day and her daughter, my grandmother getting up super early to go clean people's homes as a house keeper. My mother getting up 2 hrs earlier to take me to my tutoring at my high school before school began. You see hard work runs in my family and that's why it's hard for me at times to accept compliments because I am just doing what I know to do. it's not just about and ...it's about .
