Just another “fun” filled class 🤣

You never know what you’re going to get when you walk in.

But whatever we have planned for the day, anyone can tackle it.

Whether you’re 70 or 20, you’ll walk out feeling stronger and feeling like you crushed your workout.

How?
Well, every exercise can be adaptable to your fitness level so you get the most out of it.

It may be a class setting, but we’re with you the whole time, guiding you, correcting your form and motivating you to keep going when you need that extra push.

Arm day is the second best day 💪🏻💪🏻

It’s also about a lot more than just growing your biceps.

During arm day, along with working out your arms, we also focus on working out the chest back and shoulders.

All these together are important, not just for looking good but they play an important part in posture.

Being able to keep every part of your body aligned comes from strengthening your muscles so they can do their job and hold everything in place properly.

When we let the muscles get weak, that’s when you’ll find shoulders rolled forward, upper back hunched over, chest compressed, forward neck, amongst other issues.

Then these issues trickle down to the lower body creating even more postural issues.

We might categorize the body separately but it functions as a whole.

Never skip arm day. It’s not just for the guys to have big arms 😂

No one ever really taught us that working out is important.

It’s always been hyped up as something you do to get a “sexy body”.

But the reality of it, is that is the least important reason for working out.

It’s always been expected that as you get older, your body and health decline and there’s nothing you can do about it.

And while the body does change, working out does keep you from becoming that elderly that can’t walk or move without having pain.
Or becoming that elderly that can’t tie their own shoes or lift something or carry groceries.
It also keeps your bones strong so god forbid you fall, there’s less chance of a break, which we know happens very easily when your older.

The body does change, but working out is the only counteractive measure to take to ensure that your body will still function and move properly as you age.

Remember, a body in motion stays in motion.

We’re not meant to stop moving. It’s why the body degrades when we do.

Keep yourself healthy and moving so you can live to the fullest.

The squat

- Bodyweight MUST be distributed into the HEELS. (Back of the foot) Do NOT press into your toes. WILL cause knee pain.

- Knees cannot go over toes.

- Chest must be upright, do NOT fold over at the waist.

- Core tight. (Squeeze stomach)

- Bend at the hips and drive the butt backwards. (Don’t think about bending the knees, thats what usually causes us to push the knees over toes. Focus on hip joints bending back, knees will naturally bend at the angle they’re supposed to)

- Feet width apart will depend on muscle in focus (can be hip width, shoulder width, wider with toes pointing out or narrow.)

- IMPORTANT: when leg muscles are weak, you will NOT be able to go low in depth WHILE HOLDING PROPER FORM. Focus on form FIRST ALWAYS!!! That will build strength and allow you to get lower over time! If you can only go a few inches down while holding perfect form than that’s what you have to do. For now. 😜

Remember, proper form helps strengthen the muscle while avoiding injury.
Whenever we lose form, we’re using a neighboring joint of that muscle to help out with the exercise which is the pain we feel during that exercise.
The body does not have the proper muscle memory in the beginning, so each exercise requires a conscious effort at keeping everything aligned and in the right place. Even if you have to keep re-adjusting after each rep. It’ll be worth it!

Even though we run group fitness classes, you’re never left on your own having to figure out if you’re doing something correctly.

The trainer goes into a detailed explanation, along with a demonstration of each exercise.

Even further, during the set, the trainer will be walking around the room, making any necessary corrections to make sure that 1) you won’t hurt yourself and 2) that you’re getting the full benefit of the exercise which comes from proper form and technique.

We aim to make sure you’re seeing results 😊💪🏻💪🏻
