ISIS has claimed responsibility for a shootout in the state of Texas. ISIS’s involvement may be questionable but the attempted assault is a sign that radicalization is a growing issue that affects people around the world. “Investigators are trying to ascertain whether the two gunmen had any associates in Phoenix, or across the United States, who share their ideology.”

According to the UN, “Poverty, gender discrimination and violence are keeping more than 12 million children in the Middle East out of school.” When children are out of school, they become targets for recruitment into extremist groups. Saving the Next Generation is working to keep kids studying.
