ISIS has claimed responsibility for a shootout in the state of Texas. ISIS’s involvement may be questionable but the attempted assault is a sign that radicalization is a growing issue that affects people around the world. “Investigators are trying to ascertain whether the two gunmen had any associates in Phoenix, or across the United States, who share their ideology.”

As conflicts deepen in the Middle East children are more at risk of dropping out of school, becoming combatants and falling prey to extremist groups. “An official from the UN warned earlier this month that around 30 per cent of fighters in the armed groups involved in the conflict [Yemen] are under 18.”
