Thank you for everything NYSC!

Today was my last day after 18 years. It was very bittersweet as this is where I began my fitness career. I will miss the members, the managers and staff who have been so supportive of me all these years!

I am not saying goodbye but see you later!

Remember my name!!!

I am just kidding!

This was a logo that was created for me when I first established my business back in 2012 never realizing I would venture into the virtual world due to the pandemic.

If you are a Fit Pro, this post is for you. I want to share with you an amazing course I took during the pandemic that was my saving grace.

Like many of you, when fitness studios were forced to close due to COVID, I had to pivot and began to teach classes online not realizing how much work it involved. All of the sudden I was wearing many hats figuring out how to take payment, do my own marketing especially in a social media driven world, and day-to-day admin stuff on top of teaching my classes ( I was teaching 8 classes a week). After a couple of months of running my business, I was burning out not knowing which direction my business was going and needed some guidance.

👋🏻 everyone!

I haven’t been on social media much lately because I have been “happily” busy.

After a year of uncertainty with my fitness career, I am so excited to announce that I am now the Pilates Coach at LifeTime.Life at the West 23rd St location. I am beyond grateful for this opportunity and really excited to build and grow my business. Plus…I have a beautiful fully equipped Pilates studio to manage.

Although I somewhat feel like I am starting over after 18 years in the fitness industry, there is so much potential and I look forward to what is to come.

Let’s celebrate 🎉 our beautiful bodies no matter what size and shape you are!

Like some of you, I myself gained approx 10 pounds during the pandemic due to less activity, my fitness routine being off the rails (except for when I teach online) and a whole lot more stress snacking. Coupled with peri-menopause, there is a little extra around my belly.

But I am OK 👌🏽 with that! My body was in survival mode and I am so lucky to be happy and healthy! 😊

As part of initiative, I am so excited to be teaching an outdoor Pilates Mat class!!! ☀️

🎉 Happy anniversary to me! This month marks 18 years I have been a fit pro and boy how time flies!

It was a career I had never imagined for myself. Graduating from NYU 👩‍🎓 with a marketing and accounting degree, it was expected that would be the career path I would take and follow. However, after 10 years as a marketing professional, I felt something creatively was missing in my life.

Being a former dancer 💃🏻 what brought me happiness was taking my favorite dance classes at a well-known fitness club in NYC. This led to opportunities to do promotional work for the said fitness club which eventually inspired me to become a fitness instructor. I loved the way my favorite instructors encouraged me to be my best self and I wanted to be able to that as well.

So at the age of 31, I took a risk and made some sacrifices to become a full-time fitness instructor and personal trainer.

And 18 years later...I am still loving and enjoying every moment of it!
