Hearing this made me think how different the actual noise level is today compared to then. And how hard it is to capture attention. Approximately 9,000 tweets are sent every second and 1,000 Instagram posts are uploaded every second. (source: internetlivestats)

How old do you think the kitchen aid mixer pictured below is? Before I tell you I have a question.

Can a potential one time purchase lead to a lifetime customer?


I think it can, if you have more than one product, service or offer. The KitchenAid Mixer pictured, is about 50 years old and still kicking. 50 YEARS OLD! That is a quality made product. If you make a quality product and have other offerings relevant to the customer you have a pretty good chance of them coming back.

Even if you offer a single product, that beats the competition in quality and customer service you will still win. People will talk about you, people will recommend you. They may even tweet about you or post to Instagram and Facebook.


Remember, social media is word of mouth on steroids.
