One of the oldest softball leagues in Manhattan, we are a completely self- run, non-profit organization. The teams themselves handle all the administration and govern all rules. Many of our players participate in other leagues on Sundays or during the week; but if you ask them which league has the toughest pitchers, the best defensive players, and the highest concentration of talent in New York Ci

ty, the answer's always the same: Central Park Windmill. Our league is geared towards a more aggressive style of play where windmill or sling pitching styles are encouraged and pitch speeds can reach up to 80 mph. Unlike most other city leagues, stealing and bunting are a large part of our game, and with only nine defensive players in the field, the game requires more strategy and results in a much different feel than other leagues. Each team plays two games (double headers) every Saturday afternoon in Central Park's Heckscher Ball Fields. Our season runs from April through August with weekends off for Memorial Day and Independence Day. In total, every team plays around 30 games, not counting the playoffs. The league is predominately men, but is open to both men and women over the age of 21. We especially welcome women who can pitch; this is, after all, a windmill league.

There’s so many leagues and divisions to choose from, plus we offer the lowest pricing in the city for playing in Central Park!

Also, no need to bring bases or NEW ball. League provides them for each game!

We're switching things up this year to incorporate more women (it's their game, after all). A men's league since inception, we're moving to a coed-light model: teams must have 2 women on the field, 3 in the lineup. Everything else remains the same: bunting, stealing, defense, fastpitch, good competition, and fun on the most beautiful fields in the city.

We need top-notch women players, especially pitchers! If you played ball in college, don't hesitate. Sign up, come to our open practices in April, and we'll match you to a team.
