Most newborn sleep advice focuses on control —

Stretch feeds.
Cap ounces.
Blame regressions, or teething
Assume it’s just your baby’s temperament.

But a lot of that advice?
It’s either oversimplified… or just not helping.

Here’s what actually moves the needle:

→ Feeding your baby enough during the day (not stretching feeds too far)
→ Letting intake match your baby—not a generic ounce cap
→ Understanding that breastfed babies are fully capable of long stretches
→ Recognizing that “regressions” are usually unmet or shifting needs—not broken sleep
→ Letting go of the idea that some babies just “aren’t good sleepers”

Because when needs are met consistently…
sleep improves.

Not perfectly. Not overnight.
But predictably.

This is the difference between constantly troubleshooting sleep…
and actually understanding what your baby needs.

That’s exactly what we teach inside The Full Feedings Method —
so you can stop second-guessing and start seeing real progress.

If nights feel like a constant cycle of waking and feeding…
this is usually why 👇

Many babies fall into a pattern of:

→ small, incomplete feeds
→ frequent wake-ups
→ short sleep stretches

And it’s not because your baby is a “bad sleeper.”
It’s because their feeding rhythm isn’t supporting their sleep yet.

Here’s the shift that changes everything:

✨ Fewer feeds
✨ FULL feedings®

When your baby is fed fully (not snacking), they’re able to:

✔️ Stay full longer
✔️ Sleep longer stretches
✔️ Wake less frequently

And just as important—how you handle nights matters:

🌙 Keep feeds full
🌙 Keep stimulation low
🌙 Keep your approach consistent

This is exactly what we teach inside the Full Feedings® Method—
how to meet your baby’s needs during the day and overnight
so sleep naturally starts to fall into place.

Imagine putting your baby down in their crib and not holding your breath.

No waiting for the scream.
No wondering if you’re about to spend the next 45 minutes rocking, bouncing, feeding, restarting, and questioning your entire life.
No sitting back when they need you.

Just a happy baby.
Fed.
Tired, but not overtired.
Calm.
Safe.
Ready.

They wiggle around a little.
They stare at their hands.
They make a few tiny baby noises.

And then they fall asleep.

Not because they cried until they gave up.
Not because you ignored them.
Not because you forced independence before they were ready.

Because sleep finally makes sense to their body.

This is the part so many parents are never taught.

Independent sleep does not have to come from less support.

It can come from the right support.

Full feedings®.
Age-appropriate wake windows.
A flexible routine.
Responsive care.
Night sleep first.
Then gentle self-soothing.

And yes — you still help your baby when they need you.

Sick days, transitions, growth spurts, regressions, off days… those moments do not erase everything you’ve built.

They are part of being responsive.

At Full Feedings®, we teach you how to build sleep from the foundation up so your baby can sleep peacefully and you can stop feeling like you have to choose between responding and resting.

You don’t.

Better sleep doesn’t start at bedtime… it starts with how baby feeds 🤍

If your little one is waking often overnight, it might not be random — it could be tied to how much they’re getting during the day.

These 3 simple feeding shifts can make a big difference:

✨ Full, satisfying feeds
✨ Proper positioning for better intake
✨ Keeping baby awake + actively feeding

When feeds improve, everything else follows → better naps, smoother nights, and a more settled baby.

A consistent, supported feeding routine is the foundation of great sleep.

Want to make feeds more effective (and more comfortable for you too)?

Why is it that a later bedtime always results in an earlier start of day for your baby? The math ain’t mathing. 😂

Except… it actually is math. Baby sleep math.
And baby sleep math follows biology, not logic.

✨ When bedtime gets pushed later, your baby’s circadian rhythm doesn’t magically shift with it. Their internal clock still expects a certain window of nighttime sleep.
✨ So instead of “sleeping in,” their body protects morning wake time… and the night gets shorter from the front end.
✨ Add in the cortisol rise that happens in the early morning hours, and boom — that 9:00pm bedtime turns into a 5:00am party you did NOT RSVP for.
✨ It feels backwards, but babies truly sleep later when they go to bed earlier. This is why we aim for an age-appropriate bedtime and protect that body clock like gold.

If you’re thinking, “Okay… so how do I actually do this without any crying?” — that’s literally what we teach.

Our no-cry-it-out, step-by-step, month-by-month programs walk you through exactly how to set (and reset!) your baby’s sleep so mornings make sense again. 🤍

Everyone talks about “sleeping through the night” and exclusive breastfeeding like you have to choose one or the other…
But in many cases, you don’t.

You just need the right foundation from the beginning.

Long-term breastfeeding success usually isn’t accidental. And longer stretches of sleep don’t have to come from sleep training, cry it out, or giving up breastfeeding.

They often come from a few intentional choices made in the newborn stage:

✨ Feeding fully + frequently
✨ Protecting supply early with pumping
✨ Introducing a bottle before refusal becomes a problem
✨ Creating healthy feeding rhythms from birth
✨ Supporting sleep without ignoring your baby’s needs

These things don’t just support breastfeeding — they support flexibility, confidence, your supply, your baby’s intake, and eventually longer stretches of sleep.

At Full Feedings®, we help you build both:
breastfeeding success and sleep success.
You do not have to give up one for the other 🤍

Our sleep programs walk you step-by-step through feeding, pumping, bottles, routines, wake windows, night feeds, and how to support sleep in an age-appropriate, responsive way.

And if you want more hands-on support, you can sign up with email support for $29.99/month with a 3-month minimum so we can help set you up for long-term breastfeeding and sleep success.
