From competing on my high school swim team, to becoming a certified lifeguard and swim instructor, I’ve gained years of hands-on experience working with swimmers of all ages and skill levels. I’ve also had the privilege of teaching through organizations like the Department of Education, helping students gain confidence, safety, and joy in the water.

Parents often ask: Is it normal for my child to cry during swim lessons? Absolutely! Crying usually means they’re adjusting—not that they’re hurt. New environments, instructors, or even water temperature can feel overwhelming.

Encourage them, remind them how strong they are, and stay committed. Progress takes time—but the results are worth it. From not wanting ears in the water to swimming with their face in, learning survival skills, and jumping into the deep end all by themselves… this is what trusting the process looks like. 💪🌊
