Lionel Evans – Evans Gymnastics and Dance (EGD) Founder
Lionel Evans is an experienced coach who combines creativity and excellence to provide a unique diversion from existential techniques commonly found in gymnastics schools present-day. He specializes in all ages and levels including JO team competitive gymnastics. He has coached level 3 through level 10 gymnasts and has worked with Elite gymnasts. Lionel was a gymnast and appeared in the movie “The Wiz” with Diana Ross, as well as in commercials. During his youth, he received instruction from Nick Stevens, who emphasized that meaningful achievements require genuine dedication and commitment. He attended Suny Cortlandt College where he was on the men’s gymnastics team competing in vault and floor. He attests most of his training in Women’s gymnastics to Russian born Alexander Maretsky and Sergei and Galina Pertrouniak who taught him the tips and tricks of the trade. He delights in seeing his gymnasts winning and succeeding in obtaining scholarships to the colleges and universities of their choice. Lionel looks forward to bringing up the next generation of gymnastics champions.

Christena Evans - Evans Gymnastics and Dance (EGD) Founder
Christena Evans trained as a competitive gymnast at Gymnastrum located in Bethlehem, PA under the coaching of Fernando Guerrerro. She also attended the Ballet Guild of the Lehigh Valley, Princeton Ballet School, and Broadway Rhythms Dance Studio where she became well versed in ballet, tap, jazz, and modern dance. As a teenager, she took classes from Frank Hatchett at Broadway Dance Center in NYC. This sparked a love of jazz dance and inspired the possibility of being a dance educator in Christena. She went on to obtain her BFA in Jazz Dance from what was the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. Her career took her to professional experience in a ballet company, cruise ship, and overseas professional productions. She then became an educator of dance, acro, and gymnastics in New York, Orlando, and Virginia. She has coached competitive and recreational dancers and gymnasts. She ran a preschool gymnastics program in Orlando where she worked with children suffering special needs such as autism and down syndrome. She has developed class curriculums as well as consistently creating choreography for others to express their talents and abilities. Christena also holds a Reiki Master and Teacher certification and does energy healing work for clients across the globe. Her heart is to serve others and share her knowledge to help bring optimal wellness through athletics, the arts, and mediumship/energy work.
