⚾ April Player Superlatives – Presented by 386 MVP ⚾
New Smyrna Beach Babe Ruth Baseball is proud to recognize our April Player Superlative winners, presented by 386 MVP. Even though the season has officially wrapped up, it’s never too late to celebrate the players who stood out with their performance, effort, and character. These awards are based on feedback from our coaches, who see firsthand the impact these athletes make on and off the field. Congratulations to this month’s outstanding players!
🏆 Ace of the Mound Award
13U Rays – Jacob Kubes
Coaches recognized Jacob for his dominance, consistency, and ability to control the tempo of the game every time he stepped on the mound. He posted a 3.77 ERA over 26 innings, recording an impressive 45 strikeouts while allowing just 14 walks. Jacob consistently worked ahead in counts, kept hitters off balance, and proved to be a reliable leader for his team. His presence on the mound gave the Rays a strong chance to compete in every outing.
🏆 Big Bat Award
10U Cubs – Caleb Stubbs
Caleb was one of the most dangerous hitters in the league this April, leading in multiple offensive categories including batting average and on-base percentage. Opposing teams regularly adjusted their defense because of the impact he made at the plate. He launched three home runs to the fence, consistently put the ball in play, and used his speed to turn hits into extra bases and runs. Caleb’s combination of power, contact, and awareness made him a constant offensive threat throughout the month.
🏆 Golden Glove Award
10U Reds – Myles Daniel
Myles anchored first base all season and showed tremendous growth with each game. Coaches praised his fearlessness when handling all types of throws—whether difficult hops or wide tosses—and his ability to stretch and make plays to secure outs. His instincts and improving footwork made him a dependable defensive presence. Myles’ consistency and willingness to put in the work made him a key part of the Reds’ defense.
🏆 Hustle Award
8U White Sox – Alejandro Ramos
Alejandro stood out for his consistent effort and approach to the game. Whether in practices or games, he gave maximum effort on every play and set the example for his teammates. Coaches highlighted his positive attitude, willingness to listen, and ability to apply instruction. His hustle, coachability, and dependability made him a player teammates and coaches could always count on.
🏆 Sportsmanship Award
6U Braves – Kinsley Hunt
Kinsley exemplified what it means to be a great teammate and competitor. Coaches noted the consistent encouragement given to teammates during both games and practices, as well as the respect shown toward opponents. By uplifting others and maintaining a positive attitude, Kinsley helped create a strong sense of unity and morale within the team. This level of sportsmanship made a lasting impact and set a great example for everyone on the field.
