Brenton Billman was awarded the Baseball Student Athlete of the Year award. He has excelled academically and athletically while majoring in Mechanical Engineering Technology at Kent State University. During his time with the program, he has distinguished himself through exceptional performance and leadership. He has earned academic all-American honors, served as a team captain, and holds multiple department awards for both hitting and pitching. His dedication has also provided the opportunity to continue his baseball career in Nebraska after graduation. Beyond athletics he has shown strong commitment to service and leadership. He is the founding member of the outdoor and athletics club, and volunteers at the local YMCA helping with youth and community events. He has also contributed to many community outreach projects, supporting those in need in local schools. In additional he maintains a full-time role at Dover Chemical Corporation serving as a maintenance supervisor managing 14 employees demonstrating a remarkable responsibility and work ethic.

Very proud of our own Brenton Billman for being named Student-Athlete of the Year — the highest honor awarded by the USCAA! This is also the first time in school history that this award has been earned. An incredible achievement and well deserved!

Today is a special day for our graduates. The amount of hard work, dedication, and sacrifice it takes to be a student-athlete does not go unnoticed. Many of these athletes helped build our programs from the ground up, and we would not be where we are today without everything they gave to our teams, campus, and community.

While we hate to see them leave our program, we are excited to see all the great things ahead for each of them. The impact they made will always be a part of our program.

Congratulations to our graduates — we couldn’t be more proud of you and all you have accomplished. Once a Golden Eagle, always a Golden Eagle.
