Well as they say, all good things must come to an end. When we started this team 4 years ago i had visions of what it would be like and to say those came true is an understatement. This team has become that and so much more, it truly became a family. As we all know travel ball is full of drama, back and forth bs from all aspects, and not being part of a big name organization meant we had to work that much harder to make it work. I wouldnt change it for nothing else or any other organization out there. My players and parents have been top notch since day one and made my job easy as the coach. Also as we all know travel ball comes with huge expenses and we were able to do it the entire four years with our parents not having to come out of pocket for pretty much nothing at all. We have had wonderful support from friends and families through donations and fundraising over the years, its really been amazing. Id like to thank all former players and parents who had some time as a hurricane it was a pleasure to coach your son’s. Also to the current players and parents id also like to send a huge thank you for being apart of the hurricane family and ending the era on a very high note at cooperstown dreams park, that was the goal from day one! Not only were we able to reach and complete that goal we showed up out there and played some very good baseball. Over the years we have had so many great games, the wins, championships and so much more great memories. To the ones who have been a hurricane since day one i would like to send a huuuuggge thank you to all of you for sticking with us this whole time, especially in a time when there are so many kids changing teams and parents thinking the grass is greener on the other side it truly does mean a great deal to me. Thank you to my coaches , Bp and John for always supporting every decision and being there for it all, it has been a pleasure coaching along side you two wonderful men! And i cant leave out my wonderful wife Patsy who has been just as much a integral part of this team as i have, some ways even more! I definitely would have been able to keep this team going without you! You have been such a blessing to the success of this team and i want you to know that it means so much to me and i loved every minute of it. You definitely put your heart and soul into it these last four years. Thanks for putting up with me all the times i was in a bad mood after a tough loss , sleepless nights making sure everything was done the right way, everyone had all they needed, I love you coach patsy! We did it! Coach Derek and Nola Hurricanes signing out. What a ride!!!!
