One of the greatest rewards of coaching is watching athletes achieve great things both on and off the mat. This past weekend was one of those special moments. The New London wrestling community had the privilege of watching two of our girls wrestlers, Hailie Pylant and Gwen Voltz, graduate with honors.

Hailie and Gwen have demonstrated hard work, determination, and character throughout their high school careers, and there is no doubt they will make a positive impact in everything they do in life. Their success in the classroom, combined with their dedication to wrestling, reflects the type of young women they have become.

It has been an honor and a privilege to be a part of their high school journey. Watching them grow as athletes, students, and leaders has been incredibly rewarding.

Congratulations, Hailie and Gwen! We are so proud of all you have accomplished and can’t wait to see what the future holds for both of you.

Our middle school wrestlers had an amazing experience on the DC trip, including a visit to Mount Vernon! Great to see our athletes representing New London while learning more about our nation’s history.

Last night was Senior Awards and Scholarship Night at New London Local School District. So many students were recognized, but the wrestling community wanted to give a special shoutout to senior girls wrestlers Gwen and Hailie. Between academic awards and scholarships, they received far too many honors to even list. We are incredibly proud of everything they have accomplished and cannot wait to see what the future holds for both of them.

We also want to recognize junior wrestlers Ava and Amelia for helping with the event and representing the program so well.

And finally, a huge thank you to Mrs. Cross for putting together such a memorable night for the students and families. Your hard work and dedication helped make the evening truly special!

The New London Boosters will be hosting a golf outing on June 6th at Millstone Golf Course. They are currently looking for hole sponsors—both businesses and individuals are welcome.

Four of our middle school wrestlers — Sam, Ireland, Hillary, and Brooke — competed in the New London Middle School track meet yesterday. It’s great to see them stepping outside the wrestling season and challenging themselves in other sports. Proud of all four — they’re doing an outstanding job!

The New London Girls Wrestling team recently celebrated a successful season at their year-end banquet, and what a season it was!

While there were many accomplishments on the mat, the most impressive achievements came in the classroom. Our high school wrestlers earned an outstanding average GPA of 3.81, while our middle school team posted a strong 3.21 GPA. Balancing school, practices, work, and tournaments is no small task, yet these student-athletes continue to prove that academics come first.

We also take a moment to recognize our two seniors, Hailie and Gwen. Their dedication, leadership, and commitment to the program will be greatly missed. As they move on to college this fall, the entire wrestling community wishes them nothing but success in their next chapter.

This group truly represents what it means to be a student-athlete. We couldn’t be more proud of their hard work, both on and off the mat.
