It's the busy season for my kids activities, BMX racing and general family fun and I don't make much time for wrenches other than the family's rigs.

I took the opportunity to tear down two bikes I had for some new riders with some cool stories. There was no financial gain in either of these bikes just the joy of knowing I play a small part in getting a couple kids into racing.

The 2010 Redline Proline is going to a great kid, he is 7 years old and took interest in trying racing when his mother stopped by the track to see if it was still there. Her late brother was a former racer at the track. Billerica's Coach Matt Fennell has been working with him to develop and refine his skills and it's really built some confidence into the new rider.

The 2008 Haro Group One SR20 Pro XL is going to a teenaged girl who was sitting at the sidelines watching her brothers race. A very kind Momma racer got the young lady on the track with a loaner bike and then reached out to me and we worked together to get the Haro ready to race.

I hope to see the bikes on the track soon !

Two build and delivered on this beautiful day. The was challenging, and the went to a special little lady. I appreciate the opportunity to bring others bikes to life !

This Kink is off to it's new owner. I took the last brand new Kink Curb that I had and tossed a bunch of higher end parts than what it had on it and blew it out.

I have a quantity of 3 Huffy HX Comps available for sale for $220 each. Now you may ask why are you selling them for $220 when Walmart sells them for $198 ? We'll if you check out the wonderful video from Walmart's site you will see that it's built incorrectly with the forks backwards ON THEIR MAIN SITE ! ( Check out the video in the comments)

I take the extra time to make sure each bike is built the absolute best that it can be.

I throw out the factory brake and install a much better Shimano brake. It's an additional cost to me but additional safety for the rider.

I shorten up the bars a bit.

If you buy a bmx bike from me I'll gladly tune it up at least one time for free !

For just these 3 bikes I will offer this. If you child wants to try bmx racing I will reimburse you for 3 single point races at the Billerica BMX track. Racing classes or a camp of sorts will be made available this summer I'll pay $30 towards that camp as an option.

Barrett and Evelynne both rocked Huffys HXs last year and they held up pretty good. They are also riding them this season as well.

These bikes are great entry level children's race bikes but also will be great to put around the neighborhood, camping, rail trails and other recreational riding. Spring time and Easter is around the corner I can hold them for you as long as they are paid for and meet up at your convenience.

A professionally built BMX bike is being delivered to a new owner, raising the question: is building BMX bikes truly a straightforward process? I dedicate extra time to ensuring that every bike leaving this workshop meets the highest standards of quality regardlessof the price point of the bike. In contrast to many department stores, which often hastily and often incorrectly assemble bikes , I true both wheels before installation, adjust the headset, crank, chain tension, and recommend or install additional components as necessary. This Huffy, for instance, received pedal washers, a velcro cable tie, and an upgraded brake, as the original factory brake was subpar. I conduct a thorough inspection of each component and the frame for potential defects, verify every factory bolt, and ensure that all aspects of the bike are in safe, optimal working condition.

Throughout 2025, I underwent a significant personal transformation, largely attributed to the simple act of riding my bmx bike.This experience not only rekindled connections with my children but also strengthened existing friendships and forged new ones. As a result, I have become a more well-rounded individual, with a greater appreciation for myself and my abilities as a father, husband, and friend. Additionally, I have noticed improvements in my physical health, a decrease in my anxiety levels regarding lifes issues, and immense joy in sharing this experience with my children. I strongly encourage those who have ridden recently to give it a try again.For those who are hesitant to commit to purchasing a bike, I am more than happy to provide loaner bicycles. I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who played a role in making 2025 an unforgettable year. I would also like to extend my sincerest appreciation to my wife for her unwavering support, time, and encouragement, which have been invaluable to me. I am excitedly anticipating 2026, which promises to be a remarkable year.
