Hockey Night In New Haven

Hockey Night in New Haven has now donated over 800 sticks, balls and equipment to the 42 schools in New Haven…last month we opened the new outdoor street/roller rink that can also be used for lacrosse and soccer… we’ve also replaced and added new lighting to the facility and soon we’ll be decorating the area to brighten it all up! And while everything is provided at no charge to the community we do need more private funding to continue to enhance and expand and beautify the Salperto Complex at East Shore Park…if you’re so inclined please click the link below to help us help the kids! And if you can’t donate, we are always looking for volunteers to help run the various programs and events we’ll be bringing to the facility.

Another busy day at the Slab as we welcomed our new storage container that will house all our equipment…. It’s been busy down at the Slab…not only are everyday skaters enjoying the rink but members of the Albertus Magnus women’s hockey team have been seen working hard as well as long time local neighbors who skated at Salperto as kids…today was no different…brothers Dave and Timmy Tiedermann stopped by… both played in the youth leagues that skated there almost 40 years ago, but due to a family genetic affliction, both are now legally blind, yet they still came out today to hear the clacking of hockey sticks against the Slab as they reminisced of years gone by… we encourage you to stop by and start making your own memories
