🤼♂️.. 🤦🏾♂️ I meant to post this yesterday, 24 yrs ago(8/13/2000) professional wrestling legend Bob Backland signed this poster for me😉!!
I recently learned that is suffering from dementia, I wanted to take a minute to wish him well and strength in the “Biggest” fight of his life🙏🏾, and to share a little backstory to him signing this for me out of nowhere😳!!
Many of you may not know or remember, but Bob Backland had Political Aspirations in the yr 2000 and infact he was running for U.S. Congressman out of Connecticut the same yr.. Bob just so happened to Own or have some dealing with a Check Cashing business in the Fair Haven section of New Haven CT💯, I just so happened to be out in the neighborhood living my best life😉, and I ran into superstar Bob Backland, he was handing out literature and I said “Aren’t you running for politics”😂, he said “Yes, Congress”💯, I said “That reminds me of Jesse Ventura”(SideNote: I’m gonna get Jesse’s autograph on this poster too😉) and Bobs eyes lit up🤩!! I made the connection quickly( Pro Wrestler to Politician) and he liked that, he then grabbed a poster and a shirt he had to hand out that said “I’m a Backland Backer” and gave them to me and signed both of them🖊️.. He took the time out afterwards and broke down a little about why he was campaigning💪🏾.. The interesting thing is we didn’t talk wrestling at all and I was a big time fan at that time💯..
