Tomorrow is the first day of middle school bowling for all Henry County 5th through 8th boys and girls at Rose Bowl in New Castle at 5 pm.

We did really good tonight during the position round winning 9 out of 10.

These young men have been doing so great this season. There has been so much growth in their bowling game and their mental game.

We may have lost tonight but I'm proud of these young men tonight. Only having 4 instead of 5 they had fun and fought hard losing game 1 by 1 pin and game 2 by 28 pins.

They have come a long way. We should get our 5th bowler back from football next week or so.

The energy is so high this year and they are having so much fun. That is what it is all about. Learning, bettering and having fun while doing so.

Next week we have two meets
October 24th at Legends
October 25th at home again at Rose Bowl

So tough night tonight. Won 2 lost 8.

We played one of the best teams in the state Richmond. We were down 2 bowlers one to being sick and another being out of state. So with 3 bowlers in an alley we always struggle with, we went in there strong and played our game. The first meet is always tough finding footing.

I am so proud of these kids, I can't say that enough.
all 5 are Juniors 4 have been there since freshman. They are not just good bowlers but becoming good people and will be good adults. Respectful, supportive and good listeners. They work hard and take good direction and pick each other. I have seen such improvement in their game.

David has never bowled before this season in 3 weeks of practice I've seen him go from 40-50 to 115-140. Tonight I think there were a little bit of nerves. He's never bowled on wood lanes and it is a different atmosphere. I'm excited to see his growth this season.

My son Memphis mental game has been so much better this year. His spare game is stronger and he's bringing in some leadership. I'm seeing that with Drake too. He has been more consistent in his throws and his knowledge of the game is more advanced than last season.

Follow the rest of the season here. Tomorrow we're going in with only 3 again but can't wait until all 5 are there and seeing this journey of these guys.

Matt Laurie coming in to help coach for his first game has been helpful and my wife Samantha Grimm first year coaching. She helped coach middle school for the last 2 years. Love the three of us together who have been friends since high school coming together. We've got a great team.

Into our third week of practice and a little bit over a week until our first 2 competitions.

I will say yesterday's practice was great and I am super excited about this season, our team has been growing over the years in their experience and things are now really clicking.

As I told them they know how to bowl now it's just the tweaks on that. Now it's about learning consistency and the mental game and keeping their composure.

Stuff happens and mistakes are human but it's about keeping our mental game positive and rebounding from a bad throw or frame.

This is going to be a great season. The team is mostly juniors and 1 senior and the experience is there and next year will even be more experience under them.

If you can show your support for these kids. They are good ones on and off the lanes.

I'll continue throughout the season to update on our seasons journey and stories.

I also coach middle school and have some bowlers coming into next season. So the program is becoming very healthy for the future. Building it the right way.
