Parents and players,
As December rolls in and the Club season begins, it is with a saddened heart that we are reaching out to you to let you know that SWMO VBC will be unable to continue as a designated club for the 2024 season. As many of you know, life hit extremely hard in November. Taking into account the time lost with accidents and recovery, family loss and just overall disruption, we believe it would be more beneficial to your players as they look ahead to growing their skills individually instead of in conjunction with a wishy-washy club and team.
To be completely honest with you - I remember being a thirteen-year-old volleyball player - operating on a team where for some tournaments, only four players would show, the coach was MIA, and my mother was pi**ed that she drove me to Springfield in a winter storm. It was not a beneficial season, and we fear since this is a transition year for NHS Volleyball similarly, it may lead to history repeating itself. To get the best bang for your buck and to counteract some of those pending frustrations further in the season, it is the best choice to dismember. For individuals that have already paid their HOA membership fees and details, your money has already been processed within the SportsEngine system. Again, we are saddened to announce this news, and apologize that we could not get this out to you sooner. We were really hoping to hear good news about scheduling gyms and getting started, but rather we are still waiting to hear back from the district and with the timing permitted, it is no longer feasible to be playing the waiting game. If you are interested in finding a new route for the club season (and have already registered), as some other parents have done so already, please contact us for a release. HOA will also not charge you a transfer fee between clubs for the 2024 season, just contact them with those links above.
