Tug Valley Varsity Panthers Grabs Lead Late For Victory Over Wahama Varsity White Falcons

Tug Valley Varsity Panthers snatched the lead late in their 6-5 victory over Wahama Varsity White Falcons on Wednesday. The game was tied at five in the bottom of the sixth when Caylee Steele singled, scoring one run.

Tug Valley Varsity Panthers rallied for the victory despite trailing 5-0 in the third.

Wahama Varsity White Falcons got on the board in the top of the first inning after Fiona VanMatre doubled to center field, Eve Smith flew out, and Marlee Carr singled to center field, each scoring one run.

A single by Raylee Zirkle extended the Wahama Varsity White Falcons lead to 5-0 in the top of the third inning.

Tug Valley Varsity Panthers scored five runs on three hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Payton Workman grounded out, scoring one run, Paisley Bolyard singled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, and Emma Lackey singled, scoring one run.

Bailee Hall earned the win for Tug Valley Varsity Panthers. The pitcher gave up three hits and one run (zero earned) over five innings, striking out six and walking one. Gracie Banks took the loss for Wahama Varsity White Falcons. The right-handed pitcher went six innings, surrendering six runs (one earned) on eight hits, striking out two and walking five. Lackey started the game for Tug Valley Varsity Panthers. The righty surrendered three hits and four runs (two earned) over two innings, striking out two and walking three.

Bolyard went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Tug Valley Varsity Panthers in hits. Workman, Bolyard, Lackey, and Steele each drove in one run for Tug Valley Varsity Panthers. Hall led Tug Valley Varsity Panthers with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying five walks for the game.

Carr, Audrey Reynolds, Smith, VanMatre, Zirkle, and Aby Flowers each collected one hit for Wahama Varsity White Falcons. Carr, Smith, VanMatre, and Zirkle each drove in one run for Wahama Varsity White Falcons.

Emma Lackey Helps Tug Valley Varsity Panthers Slug Their Way To Victory Against St. Joseph Central Varsity Irish

Emma Lackey hit two home runs and drove in five as Tug Valley Varsity Panthers defeated St. Joseph Central Varsity Irish 30-0 on Tuesday. Lackey homered in the third and third innings.

Bailee Hall struck out 10 batters on the day. The right-handed pitcher also gave up zero hits and zero runs over five innings while walking one.

Tug Valley Varsity Panthers opened the scoring in the bottom of the first thanks to three singles. Tug Valley Varsity Panthers first got on the board when Lackey singled, scoring one run.

Tug Valley Varsity Panthers added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Paisley Bolyard tripled to right field, Katie Hall doubled down the left field line, Lackey tripled down the left field line, Gracie Hynd singled to right field, and Caylee Steele singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.

Tug Valley Varsity Panthers scored 21 runs on 17 hits in the bottom of the third inning. Hall homered to center field, scoring two runs, Steele singled, scoring two runs, Ryleigh Baisden singled, scoring one run, Zoey Hensley singled, scoring two runs, Bolyard singled, scoring three runs, Hall singled, scoring one run, Lackey hit a solo home run to left field, Steele doubled, scoring one run, Baisden singled, scoring one run, Bolyard singled, scoring three runs, Hall doubled, scoring one run, Lackey homered to center field, scoring two runs, and Hynd hit a solo inside the park home run.

Kate Oxley took the loss for St. Joseph Central Varsity Irish. The hurler went four innings, allowing 30 runs (21 earned) on 27 hits, striking out one and walking six.

Tug Valley Varsity Panthers piled up 27 hits in the game. Lackey and Steele each collected five hits for Tug Valley Varsity Panthers. Bolyard and Lackey each drove in five runs for Tug Valley Varsity Panthers. Hall, Hensley, Hynd, and Baisden each collected multiple hits for Tug Valley Varsity Panthers. Hall paced Tug Valley Varsity Panthers with five walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing six walks for the game. Hynd and Hall each stole multiple bases for Tug Valley Varsity Panthers. Tug Valley Varsity Panthers ran wild on the base paths, tallying nine stolen bases for the game.

Before I do a GC recap of the game I have to share pics I took before the game. We can’t thank all the guys enough that helped move stuff, cleaned around the field, and got donations of gravel. All to make our facility better. I especially want to mention Doug Kirk and Brian Ooten. But we are thankful for everyone that put in time on it.
