Spreading our love for the game is what it’s all about! Two of our own, John Hoback and Coach Chris Brady, recently shared all about sled hockey and the Sled Preds with campers at the Sumner County YMCA.

We’re proud to grow the game, break down barriers, and show that hockey truly is for everyone. Thank you to the Sumner County YMCA, and great job Coach Brady and John! 🏒

Last week, the Sled Preds own Heath Fitzgerald and Sylvia Fitzgerald were honored to represent the National Wheelcats and Nashville Sled Preds while accepting The Helper Grant from . This generous donation will help us continue to bring hockey into the disability community and grow the game we love.

We’re incredibly grateful for the support from the Preds and all they do to help make our program what it is. Thank you, - we can’t wait to make y’all proud on the ice next season! 🏒🥅

What a season it was for the Nashville Sled Preds! To end the season, all three teams made it to the playoffs at Nationals; our Tier 4 team made it all the way, only coming up short in the Championship game, Tier 6 went to the quarterfinals, and the Juniors made it to the semifinals.
While those teams were leaving it all on the ice in Dallas, two Sled Preds were repping on the USA Developmental team in a three game series against Canada. Safe to say we are heading into the summer with our heads held high.
We will be working hard in the offseason – see y’all back on the ice in September! 🏒🥅

“Sled hockey has shaped me into a great hockey player, able to read plays and coordinate with my teammates. But more than that sled hockey has taught me how to be a better human being, all the grit and hard work that I had to do not only applies on the ice. All my coaches have taught me how to win with humility and even if we don’t win we still shake the other team’s hand because we all have put in the effort to be where we are now. We can respect that in each other, in our teammates and with others not on our team. Sled hockey has made me stronger and a better hockey player but more than that it has prepared me on how to be a well disciplined, respectable young man.”

It’s also a way to stay active through something fun and fully inclusive. The Sled Preds have given me the opportunity to play a sport I love that I otherwise wouldn’t be able to.”

Continuing our posts for , sharing what sled hockey means to him, is #22, John Hoback:

“I almost lost my life in 2016, after coming off life support and relearning life as it had become from a spinal injury and now in a wheelchair, I was told I would never play sports again. Sports had been apart of my entire life. I was devastated. I discovered adaptive sports and gained a family in our disabled community that truly understands all aspects of this life (mentally & physically). Getting to play for my hometown, Nashville Preds sled team, is a dream come true. God truly has blessed me with this opportunity. My next dream is to participate in Paralympics!”

In honor of , members of the Sled Preds will be sharing what sled hockey means to them. Starting things off is #4, Adam Proctor:
“Sled hockey has become a driving force in my life since losing my leg, as I once thought I would never be able to play hockey again. Adaptive sports, and sled hockey in particular, have given me a renewed purpose and something meaningful to strive for physically, rebuilding both my strength and confidence. The Sled Preds have provided a true family and team that fuels my drive for improvement, pushing me not only for my own growth but for the success of the entire group. Through the organization, I’ve found a supportive environment where people of all abilities, disabilities, ages, and skill levels come together to compete and bond. Overall, the Sled Preds have created incredible opportunities for so many disabled athletes, turning challenges into triumphs and reminding me that the game I love still has a vital place in my world.”
