Can’t wait to get back on the field!

Thank you Brandon for all you have done for the youth program

Hey now. My name is Brandon Lockett. I only have 1 son, and we have been involved with Octorara Football for 5 years now. I love football and when I came to Brayden’s first practice. I was told they didn’t have a coach for their D team. What a perfect opportunity to get to spend more time with him and teach him the game. What I didn’t know was how I would fall in love with the challenge!! I got to meet some of the best kids and parents I have ever known! It was rough the first couple years, but we have found out footing. I wouldn’t want to coach another group of kids. The kids we have here in Octorara are great kids that are able to do anything they want if they put the effort in. The best part is watching them achieve things they didn’t think they could. I wouldn’t be anything if I didn’t have the help throughout the years. Coach Luis, Coach Gerald, Coach Don and Coach Bryant, without them, I wouldn’t be the coach I am today. GO BRAVES!!!

Our last game of the season is tomorrow!! To finish up we will give you our last 2 coaches! Thank to everyone who had a hand in making the Braves youth season run!!

Hey, I’m coach Shawn Gusler. I have been coaching for 2 years and football was my first love. Growing up sports meant the world to me. I would play anything that was competitive. Now as a dad it’s great to see we have 3 boys in the house playing football. We are also a big wrestling house with all 4 kids wrestling(Johanna took 8th at states this year). To me youth sports are the best way to get kids out of their comfort zone and become more responsible for not only themselves but for their teammates. I truly love coaching and talking to these kids. It’s so fun seeing them grow from the first practice to the last and the friendships they all have made.

another great coach for our Coaches Corner:

Coach Donald "Donny" Kramer

I have been coaching football, wresting, and baseball for 3 years. I am married to Heather (life skills teacher at Octorara), and I have three kids Savanna (14) ,Brantley (11), and Raelynn (8). I grew up in Delaware County and played football, baseball, and wrestled for Penn Wood. After high school, I served in the Army. My hobbies are hunting, fishing, and camping. I enjoy coaching to help the kids build confidence in themselves and to help advance their skills in the sports they are playing. There is nothing better than seeing the smiles and happiness on the kids' faces after getting their first touchdown or making a play. GO BRAVES!

Another coaches corner:

Gerald Stoltzfus: Hi. My wife Verna and I have 5 children, Jessica, Weston, Chandler, Alayna and our youngest son Darien who is on the B team. I have been a coach in the youth program for several years and have had the privilege of my two older sons going all the way through the youth program and on to play high school football. I have seen the confidence and work ethic football has instilled in my boys and hope as a coach to pass on many of the life lessons that football can teach us to the younger kids as well. Some things I enjoy doing are hunting, playing softball and hockey, spending time with family, especially our new grandson who was born in July. Above all I want to honor God in all I do. He is good

2 more weeks it’s been a journey!

Next Coaches Corner:

I’m Coach/Football Director Bryant Guilford. Coaching isn’t just something I do—it’s something I love. This game has given me so mich it only feels right to give that same feeling to others. I don’t coach just to win games, I coach to build confidence, character, and heart in every kid who steps on that field. We coach them hard because life will be hard, and the field is the best place to prepare. The lessons these kids learn through practice and competition—grit, respect, accountability, and heart—are lessons they’ll carry with them long after the season ends.

Hello Everyone. Nicholas “Nemesis” Madrigale fought his final battle on October 5, 2025. He sadly leaves behind two beautiful little girls and two wonderful boys who he has helped raise since they were little. As Danielle and the kids navigate this painful time, we’d like to ease some of their...

What a battle yesterday Braves. Hard fought battle by the D team, way to finish strong. C team is still working hard. Fabulous job to the B team, with back 2 Back wins

Coaches Corner:

I'm Coach Lynn Anderson. Growing up my passion was football and now having a role coaching our players is a blessing for me. Football is a great sport that teaches a player valuable life skills. I strive to motivate and encourage our players to give 100% of their full potential each moment I'm with them. We have a great team and I'm super excited to see them rally together this year. My family includes my wife, Brittany and our two boys, Tristan #8 and his older brother, Bryce, who at times loves to come out to support our players. Off the field, as a family we spend a lot of time taking care of our animals to include 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 2 rescue donkeys. We enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, target shooting, and riding ATV's. Looking forward to another great season!

This week for Coaches Corner we give you:

I’m Coach Joe Mowday. My family and I live in Parkesburg, PA. My wife, Mare, and children, Joey, Weston, and Olivia are the most important people in my life. I’m very excited to be involved in another year of coaching. I’ve always been extremely passionate about sports. As a child, I played both baseball and football and my father also coached my teams. It’s wonderful to be able to be involved in my son’s sports just as my father was. In my spare time, I love to hunt and fish, but ultimately, I’m a family man at heart. I hope to help improve each kid’s abilities and hope for them all to have a great experience this year playing football. It is truly an honor to be coaching in the Braves Youth Football organization.

Fighting through adversity has been the growing theme this season!!! Proud of everyone
Next up on our coaches corner:

"I'm Coach Matt. It's an honor and privilege to be apart of the Braves C-Team. As a man growing up in this world, I've come to realize that the next generation needs to be stronger, tougher, and smarter than our current generation. It's our jobs as men to lead our youth and teach them how to become great men. Men who will make a difference, make good choices, and do good deeds in life. Through our leadership and devotion to these children, im positive we will make a difference!!!"
