Mud Slingin'

Dirt racing has long been a staple of the Majors calendar. Last season's hiatus was met with mixed reviews. This year, we are back. And in true Majors fashion, we are taking on the unique challenge of the Legends cars at tiny Limaland Motorsports Park.

This bullring is only 1/4s of a mile long. For reference, that's the length of a running track around a football field. The track was originally opened in 1935 and has welcomed racing fans to northeastern Ohio ever since. Weekly racing from multiple disciplines takes place over the spring and summer months. The nearby University of Northern Ohio also utilizes the facility for different studies and classes.

No pre-qualifying for this round. Instead, race day quali takes place in true short track style:
- Individual qualifying-
- Heat races to determine consolation races
- Consolation races to determine the Main events
- Last chance qualifier race
- Main event

Race broadcast will take place from the Majors YouTube channel at

Don't lift like the Biff

As the Intimidator round approaches once again, let's talk about a different driver......Greg Biffle.

We lost the former driver on 12/18 when a private jet on which he was traveling crashed in Statesville, North Carolina. On board were his wife, two children, two pilots, and the former hauler driver for Kenny Wallace. Unfortunately, none survived.

Biffle originally hailed from the Pacific Northwest and eventually made his way to the Cup Series, where he would race for 16 years. During that time, he compiled 13 poles, 175 top tens, and 19 wins over a career that spanned 515 races. He would achieve his greatest success in the 2005 season where he accounted for six wins and a second place finish in the season championship standings. He would go on to be named on of the 75 greatest NASCAR drivers of all time.

After retiring from full time competition, the Biff would still appear in one off events across all three of NASCAR's top series. His other on track exploits came in Stadium Super Trucks, SRX, IROC, and a variety of off road races. Along the way, he became a licensed pilot across a variety of aircraft.

A great driver, Biffle was an even better person. Using his skills as a pilot, he would often utilize his own personal aircraft in many assorted humanitarian missions down in the Caribbean and, most notably, after Hurricane Helene.

The Majors Series will be running its annual trip to Daytona for the 500 mile race. It is appropriate as Daytona was the sight of the Biff's first Cup win in the July 2003 race. Throughout the week's qualifying sessions and Duel races in the Majors Series, there have been multiple liveries honoring Biffle's iconic number 16 paint schemes to include our very own Joe.

So come along with us as we hit the high banks once more, this time we won't lift. For the Biff. The race will be broadcast on the Majors Series YouTube channel at www.youtube.com//streams

The team had a very strong showing in qualifying with a front row lockout and four cars in the top ten. Starting lineups are listed below:

Brian- P22 Sp 1
Jason- P6 Sp 1
Joe- P14 Sp 1
Kinch- P16 Sp 1
Matt- P10 Sp 1

Back in the Saddle

We're going to get a little musical with this one.....There's an awesome song out there by country superstar Luke Combs that feels incredibly appropriate on multiple levels (if you wanna know the following references, check out the music video for the song that shares the same title as this post).

It's the season premiere, and we've been "gone for a little too long" while "waiting in the wings like a dog on a chain" getting ready to go for this season's opening round. In a departure from years past, we are going short track racing (as the setting in the aforementioned music video), driving the Super Late Model at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida, for 300 laps. The top 30 are automatically in split one. A fifty-lap Last Chance Qualifier will allow qualifiers 31-50 the chance to vie for one of the transfer spots for those who finish in the top six. Those lucky drivers will transfer over to fill out a 36-car top split grid. The remaining drivers will run in split two

"This time I'm taking what's mine" will be the mindset needed to navigate the traffic and hazards of this little bull ring of a race track. It's time to kick off the 2026 campaign. "Don't worry where I've been. I'm back in the saddle again". Come along for the ride, and seriously, check out that video. It's really good.

Going forward, all broadcasts for the top split will be broadcast on the Majors Series YouTube channel that can be found at www.youtube.com/

Starting positions for the guys for the opener are as follows:

Ross- P3 Split 1
Kinch- P31 (will drive in the LCQ)
Brian- P34 (will drive in the LCQ)
Jason- P38 (will drive in the LCQ)
Travis- P41 (will drive in the LCQ)
Matt- P50 (will drive in the LCQ)
Tim- P15 Split 2
Joe- P21 Split 2
Ron- P29 Split 2

Second visit, different car

It is rare that the Majors Series visits the same circuit twice during a season, but that is what is happening for the penultimate round of the season. The series ran GT3 cars at the Mount Panorama Circuit in the International region earlier in the season as part of a wildcard weekend. This time, it'll be all regions competing in the same car in a race that emulates one of the most prestigious and difficult races in the world.

The Bathurst 1000 has been held 67 times since the first running in 1960, but the event originated as a 500km event that took place at Phillip Island. The race was moved to Bathurst three years later and extended to 1000km in 1973. Due to the length of the race, two drivers are required to complete the race.

The circuit itself is a 3.8-mile stretch of country roads that boast 23 corners and 571 feet of elevation change. Widely known as a fearsome challenge, the track is made up of long straights and a winding stretch of road going up and coming back down a literal mountain. Given this is a solo race, the Majors drivers will only be completing 500km for this round rather than the 1000km in the real world. This 500km distance will require 81 laps around mighty Mount Panorama.

We have no drivers in either the International or European regions, and the starting lineups for our drivers are listed as follows:

Brian- Split 2 P4
Jason- Split 2 P14
Joe- Split 1 P19
Kinch- Split 2 P3
Matt- Split 2 P18
Ross- Split 1 P2
Tim- Split 2 P5
Travis- Split 1 P7

The Lady in Black

When it comes to ovals, the Darlington Raceway is as historic as they come. First opened in 1950, just one year after the official formation of NASCAR, the track has enjoyed a long and storied life over its 75 years of operation.

The egg shaped track achieves its unique configuration in an equally unique fashion. The owner of the land surrounding what is now turns 3 and 4, a Mr. J. S. Ramsey, expressed a specific concern to friend and track owner Harold Brasington. Ramsey was worried a fishing pond would be destroyed by the track construction. As a result, the radius of that section of track was reduced to leave the pond intact. The result was a uniquely shaped circuit that requires a completely different approach to either end of the track. And the pond that started it all still sits in peaceful existence just off turn four to this day.

In addition to its unusual shape, the track is known for a couple of other things, eating tires and the "Darlington Stripe". Due to an extra abrasive surface that is constantly pounded by the sand and other elements, the track surface chews through rubber at an alarming rate. Due to this high tire degradation, cars often lose grip just enough to brush against the wall multiple times throughout races. Hence the earning the Darlington Stripe. Ordinarily, a brush with the wall is a bad thing, here, it's a badge of honor.

The track currently hosts two NASCAR weekends each season. The spring race has become known as "Throwback Weekend" where the teams recreate iconic liveries from yesteryear. Broadcasters also get into the act by inviting legends of the sport (both driver and broadcaster) into the booth to call part of the race.

The fall weekend is a crown jewel event for NASCAR, the Southern 500. This race is what brings us to this place as the Majors Series takes on The Track Too Tough to Tame. The event will include race day qualifying then 367 grueling laps around the Lady in Black. It's very much an oval endurance race to see who can keep their car (and tires) in one piece for a good finish.

The race begins 4pm Pacific time, and can be found at the PitStop TV YouTube channel at the following link:
