Fun-Facts about Chick-Chat and Bump-Talk 🐣✨

Did you know the conversation starts long before day one?

Mama hens actually cluck softly to their eggs while sitting on the nest, and the unhatched chicks cluck back right through the shell!

Human babies are no different. Around 18–22 weeks, your little one starts hearing your voice, learning its rhythm, and building that deep bond long before birth.

Here is why in-womb chats matter so much:
• Kick-starts language skills — Babies get used to the rhythm of your voice early, giving them a head start on speech.
• Soothes and comforts after birth — Recognizing your voice right away helps your newborn feel safe and calm.
• Builds an early emotional bond — Chatting, singing, or reading to your bump connects you deeply before you meet face-to-face.
• Gives brain growth a boost — Hearing you speak strengthens the neural pathways that process sound.
• Starts the conversation early — Little wiggles and kicks are nature's way of letting baby chat right back!

Did you talk or sing to your bump when you were pregnant? I’d love to hear your favorite memories!

Watching Sarah put in the work through the rest of her pregnancy and totally take charge of her birth journey was just amazing to watch. I loved getting to hear all about their beautiful birth, and it was such an honor to drop off a warm meal and finally meet that sweet baby boy. Seeing the older siblings obsessing over and loving their new brother pulled all the heartstrings for sure!

Sarah, thank you for having me be part of your story. What a wonderful experience it was seeing you embrace pregnancy and another journey into motherhood.

After birth, you don’t go back. You discover strength in who you are becoming. There is so much pressure to return to who you were before, but birth changes things. It reshapes your perspective, your capacity, and your daily life.

Instead of trying to reclaim an old version of yourself, give yourself space to meet the person you’re growing into right now. The progress might feel slow, but the strength you are building along the way is real.

Pregnancy changes your body, but it does not mean you have to stop moving! Your body was designed for movement, even as it grows and adapts throughout pregnancy.

Regular movement can help you and your baby.
• Maintain strength and endurance
• Reduce common pregnancy aches
• Prepare your body for labor and recovery
• Support your baby's healthy development

As your body changes, your training should change with it.
Instead of stopping, adjust.
• Modify exercises as your belly grows
• Focus on breathing and core support
• Prioritize comfort and good movement

Your body gives you feedback. Listen to it.
• Pain is information, not something to ignore
• Feeling off? Modify the movement
• Feeling strong? Keep moving

Every pregnancy will look different. The goal is not to stop moving, but to learn and find movement that supports your changing body.

Honestly, AI can spit out a workout routine in three seconds flat. But an algorithm is never going to actually see you in person. It won't notice that you are running on two hours of sleep because your baby was up all night. It can't feel the shift in your energy when you walk through the door, spot your posture, or know when to stop lifting the weights for a deep breath and a solid stretch.

An app can give you data, but it can never give you real empathy, intuitive guidance, or a real person in your corner cheering you on through the wins and the messy days.

If you are ready for movement that feels wholehearted, joyful, and completely tailored to your real life, send me a DM or drop a comment below! I would love to connect and chat about working together.

Most people don't think about these things until they're harder to do:
Carrying groceries. Getting up off the floor. Climbing stairs with confidence Working in the garden. Playing with grandkids. Talking a walk with confidence. Reaching for things off the top shelf. And so many other important things!

They're just part of everyday life. I'd rather help someone keep these abilities than help them get them back. That's why I care so much about strength training. It's not about chasing bigger numbers or looking a certain way, it's about having the ability to keep living your life the way you want to.

Magnesium is one of those minerals that doesn’t always get the attention it deserves, but your body is using it every single day! In fact, magnesium is involved in 300+ processes throughout the body, helping support everything from muscle function to energy production.

- During preconception and pregnancy, magnesium supports your changing body, muscle function, blood sugar regulation, and your baby’s growth and development.

- During postpartum, your body is recovering, rebuilding, and adjusting to a completely new rhythm. Magnesium supports energy production, nervous system function, muscle recovery, and overall resilience.

- As we age, magnesium continues to play an important role in maintaining muscle strength, bone health, heart function, and staying active and independent.

Some of the ways magnesium supports the body:
-Helps muscles contract and relax
-Supports a healthy nervous system response
-Helps convert food into energy
-Plays a role in bone health
-Supports normal heart function
-Helps the body rest and recover

I always believe food comes first. Some magnesium-rich foods include pumpkin seeds, spinach, almonds, black beans, avocado, and dark chocolate. Magnesium is a small mineral with a big role in keeping our bodies strong through all parts of life.

Last night reminded me how thankful I am to be part of this community. It was an honor to connect with some amazing birth workers.

There's just something special about being in a room with people who all care so deeply about supporting women. We had the best conversations, shared ideas, learned from each other, and geeked out over how amazing the human body really is. Looking forward to the next meeting!
