An aha moment while running on treadmill today…..growth can be painful…consistency can be hard to obtain early on….small shifts and paying attention are key to the long haul towards success…..Success being growth and consistency. Now how this came to me while running on treadmill or as my friend calls it…the dreadmill! After legs warming a bit, I started hitting my knuckles on the hardware of the treadmill due to speeding up by default of legs being warm. This hurt! Every time! So after a couple of times, I decided I would turn speed up one click. Problem solved…then legs said no fair, that’s a bit much now. So, I went one click down. Few minutes later, legs didnt hurt anymore and bang goes the knuckles, 1 click up. Few minutes later, legs hurt, 1 click down. This process went on for 70 minutes! When it was all over, I saw most consistent heart rate in a long run maybe ever. Moral of the story, small shifts while continuing to move forward yield a W! When it hurts, what small shifts while continuing will make it possible to keep moving forward? The answer is NEVER stop because it hurts as all that will ever give you is broken dreams and guaranteed continued hurt.
