Besides the bliss of soaking in baby cuddles, here’s how contact naps actually support breastfeeding👇

When your baby sleeps on you, your body isn’t just a comfy spot.. it’s actively working with your baby.

✨ Skin-to-skin boosts oxytocin (your milk-making + letdown hormone)
✨ You’re more likely to notice early hunger cues before baby is crying
✨ Babies regulate their temperature, breathing, and heart rate better on you
✨ It encourages more frequent, low-stress feeds (which = stronger supply)
✨ Your baby associates your body with comfort AND nourishment

Distracted nursing is just where we’re at in this stage 🤷🏼‍♀️

But in all honesty this message has two meanings… yes my almost 9month old who I KNOW wants milk gets distracted so easily when trying to nurse

AND I’m also distracted by all the noise and clutter that needs to be tended to making it hard to focus on nursing her

But here we are both letting go of the expectation and trying to enjoy this bonding moment. The mess can wait. I’m learning to be more patient as our nursing journey shifts and it might take her a few latches before she finishes
