Why Do I Overeat at Night? It could be About Decision Fatigue.
Ever noticed how you're more likely to overeat at night? That late-night snacking often isn’t about hunger—it's about decision fatigue.
After a full day of making countless decisions—big or small—your mental energy is tapped out. By the time evening rolls around, you're tired, stressed, and just done.
In that state, making healthy choices feels almost impossible, and reaching for comfort food becomes an easy escape.
But here's the thing: you can avoid this trap by making a plan before decision fatigue sets in. When I plan my meals and snacks ahead of time, I’m setting myself up for success, even when my willpower is running on empty.
By taking those decisions off the table earlier in the day, I’m able to do what’s best for me, even when I’m feeling drained.
So, if you find yourself struggling with late-night overeating, consider planning your meals ahead. It’s a simple step that can make all the difference when you’re just tapped out for the day.
