WHAT A SEASON…WHAT A STATE TOURNAMENT!! 🎯💙🎯

This post has taken me awhile to figure out what I want to say!
Katlynn, Bella and Lydia (didn’t get to shoot at state due to a wrestling injury) are the last of the first group of archers that got this program started!!!! It has been a joy and my privilege to watch them turn into not only great archers but pretty darned great human beings!!! ❤️🏹❤️
It was a bittersweet weekend for our other seniors as well…Boston, Jewell and Tashianna.

The state tournament by the numbers (ya’ll know I love the numbers!!😂)

There were 45 schools there…….2,659 kids.
We took 33 kids…..all but 4 were qualified as individuals.
Of our 33 kids, 21 of them are academic archers!!
There were 75 targets set up so there were 150 kids shooting at once!!
Those are some pretty impressive numbers!!!🎯

Wil Muecke ended up #14 in his division (top 10 go on to nationals!!) Wil was WC’s top shooter of the day! He and Ezra Hood landed in the top 5% of the shooters in their division of 637 MS boys. Katlynn Fetterman was our top high school shooter and was in the top 5% of her division of 535 HS girls.

We also had 6 new personal Bests shot at state!!😳

best under that kind of pressure!!!!

Did we send anyone to Nationals this year? No
Are we proud of every one of these kids? Absolutely!
We went, we shot our best for the day, we had fun, made some great memories and will be ready to go at it again next year🎯
The future of archery at WC is bright!!!!💙

Archery apparel is IN!!!
We have it in the archery office.
Please have your archer pick it up or you can stop by the office during regular practice times!
By the looks of things, WC will be looking SHARP at state this weekend!!!🎯

Here is a map of the part of the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines we will be shooting at on Saturday!
Bullseye will shoot in the Varied Industries bldg and 3D will shoot in the Jacobsen Exhibition Center.
All archers need to be in front of the Varied Industries Bldg at 10:00 Saturday morning!!!!

We have a meeting today at 5:00 pm in the commons for ALL state bound archers and we need at least one parent there!!!

It’s a family thing!!!! 🎯🎯🎯
One of the many great things about archery is siblings can participate together!!! Here at WC we shoot 6-12th grades so there a lot of siblings shooting together…..sets us up for some great sibling rivalries!!😂

SHOOT TIMES ARE IN!!!!!
Since we had to postpone our state archery meeting due to weather last night….thought we should throw out a bit of info!!!!
HS will shoot at 11:00 Saturday
MS will shoot at 12:00 Saturday
ALL archers will need to meet us in front of the new bullseye competition building (varied industries) at 10 AM to get their competition bands which gets the archers into the venue free. If you are late, you will need to pay to get in and come find us to get your band.
We will have other information at the meeting Sunday at 5:00 in the commons…..ALL archers and at least one parent MUST attend this meeting, no matter how many times you have been to state!!!!
It’s getting close!!!!! You better be catching as many practices as you can!!!!🎯💙🎯

Please note the ordering deadline is a week from today March 16th at 8 am…there will be NO reorders!
I will pick them up when they are ready and get them to your archer at practice….anything not picked up will be available at the pep rally on Thursday March 26th!

Here is the link to the block of rooms Lindee Brosamle has reserved for our archery families! If you feel confident that your archer has qualified for state please feel free to snag one of these rooms. The hold on these rooms expires March 6th.
I believe she reserved 20 rooms and by my calculations, we will need them all so if you are needing more than 1 room please be considerate and book only 1 through this block and the rest through normal booking procedures!!! Thank you!!!
