Mountain Home Session Updates 🎉

#1 I’m hoping to start June 15th ish. (FYI- I have a work trip 6/23-6/25, though.) I just need the pool water to warm up 🥶 I’m choosing to use a private outdoor pool because I don’t want to force families to buy Aquatic center passes when lessons already are a financial commitment.

#2 I am only going to have 20 open MH spots this year. This can be new families or siblings of former students. $450 per student/ $400 for additional siblings, due on first day of lessons.

#3 Lessons will be from 8am to 1pm, every 15 minutes.

#4 I will be asking new families to sign a commitment contract this year. It will cover the most important areas from the Parent Resource Book and will be available to view in the sign up email. If you are not comfortable with its contents, please do not sign your child up for ISR lessons.

#5 Sign ups will open to the waitlist at noon on Wednesday (tomorrow) first come, first served.

#6 Returning families, we will “fill in the gaps” with maintenance and refresher lessons. I will also post any other dates and times I have available.

Calico families- We will do lessons in the afternoons, similar dates, same requirements, $350/swimmer

This is a fantastic reminder for those with babies! All kids should be in a USCG approved life jacket on open water. You CAN ask me for recommendations on those 😉

Are ISR lessons right for your family?

1. Parents need to be ready to throw away the puddle jumpers and be ready to learn about water safety best practices.

2. Lessons are 10 minutes a day, 5 days a week for 6 weeks. It’s a time commitment, but kids and babies learn best in short, consistent chunks of time.

3. It’s a money commitment. I am not a teenager who was on swim team in high school. I am a mom of 2, have 10 years of elementary teaching experience, and have a corporate education job outside of swim lessons. I spent thousands of dollars to get certified with the safest program in the country and stay current with them. I spend hours outside of the water reviewing footage to improve lessons and find pictures/ videos to show you the underwater progress happening.

4. Be ready to trust the process. It doesn’t seem like much happens day to day. Watching your child be uncomfortable can be really hard to watch. ISR is a slow, deliberate process but your child will end lessons with life-saving skills.

Please make sure you are ready to commit before signing your child up for a time slot!

A few times over the years, I’ve had a parent call me and say, “You saved my baby’s life today,” after a fall in the water, where the baby was able to roll back and float safely.

Yes, I taught your child those skills, but what about you?

You researched swim lesson options and found what best matched your beliefs about water safety.
You got that baby to lessons every single day for 6 weeks.
You saved the money, asked the grandparents, and used birthday cash to pay for lessons and registration.
You washed hundreds of towels, swimsuits, and reusable swim diapers.
You were late to work, left work early, suffered through two daycare drop offs or did whatever it took to make my availability work for your family.
You took the risk and threw away the puddle jumper even though it is easier.
You even freaking signed up to do it all again with baby #2.

You prioritized water safety over cost and time. You saved your baby’s life, too. It’s never going to be you, until it is.

👋 Hi everyone! I wanted to provide a 2026 update and a general outline of my plans. I started a new job in July 2025 that has me traveling quite a bit each month, which means I have less flexibility in my schedule. I still want to teach swim lessons to provide this life-saving service to our community, so I will prioritize doing at least 1 full session for new students (6 weeks) and refresher sessions for returning student (1-3 weeks). I am hoping to start in April, but I will need to find an indoor heated pool. Since I have not completed that task, I cannot release a schedule like I normally do this time of year. If your child is not on my waitlist yet, please message me. Sign up emails will go to my waitlist first. 🏊‍♀️

The little fish in my summer session are making amazing progress at becoming problem solvers in the water! 🐟
Survival swim lessons are another layer of protection from drowning. I would love to add your child to my waitlist to get first dibs on my next session coming this fall.
