We are praying for everyone and their families that were involved in this tragic accident earlier this morning.
Good afternoon, everyone.
We want to provide an update regarding the accident that occurred earlier this morning around 7:00 a.m.
This week, our youth group attended camp at the Bill Rice Ranch in Murfreesboro. It was a wonderful week filled with joy, fellowship, and spiritual growth. As we were traveling home this morning, a serious accident occurred on Interstate 40 near Cookeville, Tennessee.
A vehicle traveling in the opposite direction crossed into the median and collided with Pastor Tyler’s personal vehicle. Pastor Tyler was driving and had five of our boys/teen youth members with him.
We are thankful to report that, by God’s grace, everyone survived the accident. Pastor Tyler sustained injuries and has been transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he is receiving care. While he is stable, he may have a long road to recovery.
The youth who were in the vehicle also sustained injuries. Most suffered minor injuries, with some requiring stitches and others being evaluated and treated before being released. One of our youth has been transferred to UT Medical Center for further evaluation of an injury.
We know this news is difficult to hear, especially for our youth who experienced this traumatic event firsthand. While there will be physical and emotional healing ahead, we are incredibly grateful that every life was spared. Injuries can heal, and vehicles can be replaced, but lives cannot.
Please continue to pray for Pastor Tyler, each of the youth involved in the accident, their families, and our entire church family as we walk through the days ahead. We are deeply thankful for God’s protection and for everyone who has already reached out with prayers and support.
