Tonight we celebrated the historic season these girls have had! They took home the sixth region championship trophy back-to-back-to-back years to become the program’s first 3️⃣-peat champs! Not only that, Bullitt East was the only sixth region team where every player competing in individual regional play earned a bid to state! Natalie Griffin went on to become the 6th region individual singles champion and advanced all the way to the quarterfinals of state competition! The team had a strong regular season, as well, going undefeated in the region and representing Bullitt East well all season long against some tough competition, including winning the back-bracket for both singles (Claire Bates) and doubles (Kadence/Liz) at the North Laurel tournament, and taking strong teams and players to tiebreaker matches multiple times throughout the year! These accomplishments were recognized tonight by the coaches, who also presented awards for service, effort, improvement, spirit, and most wins, as well as recognized the tenacity and integrity the team overall played with all season. New varsity members were presented with their letters and returning varsity members received their bars. While it’s tough to say goodbye to this group of seniors who have been such an instrumental part of the success this team has had in regional and state play the last three years (Reaching the Final 8 in the state last year!), the future looks so BRIGHT with this upcoming group of young ladies!!! ❤️🎾💛
