MVE Claybusters

This week a couple of our coaches, Mandy Simpson and Lindsey Breeding, got to be apart of the Jacksonville Parks Youth Camp!! 🤩

There were 25 kids ranging from 8 to 15, and each day the campers got to learn and play different sports. Monday campers got to go swimming🤿🏊🏼, Tuesday- baseball/softball⚾️🥎, Wednesday- Shooting Sports🔫, and Thursday- flag football/volleyball🏈🏐.

Our coaches were able to teach and discuss the importance of gun safety, as well as showing them how much fun it can be! Younger campers who didn’t want to try trap shooting, tried their hand at shooting BB guns.

What a fun way to kick off the summer break! ☀️ We hope all our Claybusters are having a great summer break so far!!

Now that shooting season has come to an end, we just wanted to thank all of the people who made this year possible! Truly we could not have done this without everyone in the community!

Looking back on all of the of people who have helped this year, we have had everyone pitch in somehow this year! Everyone from MVE for continuing to come out and cheer our Claybusters on, SO MANY sponsors, and of course Wings and Rings/Glover Farm for allowing us to have somewhere to practice each week! Throughout the past 18 years MVE teams have used their place to practice and we are very grateful for that!! Thank you to all!! 💙

Our run at the State Tournament has come to an end. We were edged out by a tiebreaker. Of course, not the outcome we hoped for today. But we couldn’t be more proud of this squad and every one of the Claybusters this season. Thank you for the hard work, dedication, and heart you showed all year long. 💙

T’was the night before the state tournament, when all through MVE
Every Claybuster is dreaming of busting clays in their beds.
With their guns nice and clean, and ready to go,
They’re counting each target they’ll smoke in a row.

The shells are all packed in the trailer with care,
In hopes that a championship soon would be there.
The coaches are grinning, the team full of pride,
Ready to stand with their squad side by side.

At sunrise they’ll load up and head down the road,
With nerves and excitement in every shotgun load.
For teamwork and focus have brought them this far,
And tomorrow they’ll shine like a bright shooting star.

So good luck, Claybusters, shoot steady and true,
The whole school is cheering and rooting for you!💙

🏆STATE TOURNAMENT🏆

We are so proud of our 💙JR Blue Squad💙, and cannot wait to see them compete against the TOP 64 Squads in Arkansas!!! 🎉

Come cheer them on this Friday! Opening ceremony starts at 8:30 AM, shooting starts at 9 AM!

Congratulations to Ben Thomason, upcoming senior at Mt. Vernon-Enola High School, on being elected to the Arkansas Boys State Legislature! 💙

Ben represented MVE well while participating in Arkansas Boys State, a prestigious leadership and government program that provides students the opportunity to learn more about civic responsibility, leadership, and public service.

We are proud of Ben for this accomplishment and the way he continues to represent Mt. Vernon-Enola with integrity and leadership.

We wrapped up JR Regionals, now we EAT! 🍽️
It’s Claybuster tradition we go eat after we shoot on Friday! We showed up with 62 hungry Claybusters!! 😋
