Lake Mead's Anniversary Narrows Trail.
Alltrails: 8.2 miles, 1512 ft of elevation gain.
Very minimal scrambling on this trail. However, if you're bringing a pup along, a little assistance may be needed to cover a few sections within the slot canyon :)

Follow on Instagram for more trails in and around the Las Vegas area.

People have lived in what is currently Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area for thousands of years, and you can still easily see evidence of it today. Rock writing can be found throughout the NCA, including at Willow Spring, the Petroglyph Wall Trail, and the Red Spring Boardwalk.

These rock writings are cultural clues to the past and reveal how people expressed their ideas. For contemporary Native People, they are a significant part of their cultural heritage and identity. Rock writings remain powerful cultural and spiritual symbols, linking the ancestors to their descendants today.

We have petroglyphs, or carvings into the rock, and pictographs, or paintings onto the rock. Writings include representations of humans, animals, and plants, as well as abstract designs like spirals, circles, stars, and dots. These writings may be related to hunting rituals, water sources, migrations, astronomical events, and religious practices.

Our maintenance crews travel far and wide to make sure all our facilities are clean and ready for Lake Mead visitors to use and enjoy. For example, Ranger Morris here is up-keeping the facilities at Arizona Hot Springs, which he has to access by boat.

Remember to do your part in keeping our beautiful park clean by packing out all your trash.
