🏈 SWLA Parents! 🏈

Every year around this time, a lot of families take a break after baseball… and then football season sneaks up on them. 👀

Registration is ongoing and we’re seeing a GREAT turnout so far — so much so that our 7–8 Peewee division is already halfway full!

Next thing you know, ALL our divisions are full and it’s too late!

With summer here, kids are staying busy with camps, vacations, sunburns, swimming… and 💥 football season gets here faster than you think. Don’t wait too long!

🏈📣 SWLA Parents — FOOTBALL SEASON IS COMING! 📣🏈

Registration for the 2026 Moss Bluff Youth Football League is OPEN! 🏈

With baseball season wrapping up and many teams finishing their World Series runs this past weekend ⚾️🏆, a lot of families are starting to think about what’s next for their athletes! Football families are already signed up and ready to go!

We’re already seeing new athletes from across SWLA come in and spots beginning to fill across all of our divisions. 👀

A few things that make our league a great fit for families across SWLA:

🏈 Games are played on weeknights, not in the Saturday afternoon heat, and it keeps your weekends open!
📍 No out of zone restrictions….we welcome athletes from Lake Charles, Sulphur, Westlake, Iowa, Ragley, DeQuincy and all surrounding areas
🏆 Season kicks off in August and wraps up with our Championship Games at Sam Houston High School around Thanksgiving

If your athlete is ready for what’s next after baseball, this is a great time to get them involved!

2026 Divisions:
5–6: Flag
⭐️ 7–8: Peewee Flag (NEW) ⭐️
9–10: Junior Tackle
11–12: Senior Tackle

‼️ Our 9–10 Junior Tackle Division filled up last season. If your athlete plans to play, don’t wait to register. ‼️

⭐️ New this season, our 7–8 division will now be Peewee Flag, giving players another year to develop before moving into tackle. 8-year-olds may still request to play up in the 9–10 tackle division.

💫 Senior Division Update 💫

Players on 7th/8th grade middle school rosters are not eligible.

Football parents! Its registration week! Registration opens THIS THURSDAY!

📣 🏈 ATTENTION SWLA PARENTS! 📣 🏈

The MBYFL board recently met and we’ve got some exciting announcements for the 2026 season!

📅 Mark your calendars — Registration opens May 21! Our costs will remain the same as last season! We are a non profit organization and fees will help fund equipment, referees, and season long costs! Registration will be ONLINE at www.mb-football.com

Tackle - $150
Flag - $120

‼️A note for parents looking at our 9–10 TACKLE Junior Division… this was our largest division last season and we ran out of spots. Getting registered early will be important to make sure your athlete is on the field in 2026! ‼️

⭐️⭐️ Parents, we heard you loud and clear. MBYFL is excited to announce a division change. Our 7–8 PEEWEE division will now be our final FLAG opportunity for the younger players. At the same time, 8-year-olds will still have the option to request to play up in the 9–10 Junior TACKLE division.

Here are our 2026 divisions:

• 5–6: Flag
• ⭐️ 7–8: Peewee FLAG (NEW DIVISION) ⭐️
• 9–10: Junior Tackle
• 11–12: Senior Tackle

💫 SENIOR Division Roster Change 💫

In recent seasons, players who were on a middle school roster would NOT be eligible to play in MBYFL. Starting in 2026, 6th GRADE players on a middle school roster WILL be allowed to enter our league. 6th graders usually do NOT play much in the 6th grade so this tweak will allow these boys to prep with middle school but will be able to get reps on the field without missing out on an entire season!

We’d also like to welcome two new board members, Patrick Miller and Devin Jack, who will help continue to grow and strengthen our league moving forward and long into the future! Please welcome them to the MBYFL family! We are still interested in finding more volunteers for to join our board, specifically for our 5-6 year old flag division!

Again, registration opens May 21. The 2026 season will be here before we know it. Please share and let’s get the word out! We don’t want anyone missing out!
