My Story…

I fell in love with basketball at eight years old. From that moment, the game became more than just something I played — it became a part of who I was.

As a youth player, I had no real guidance or mentorship. I learned the game mostly on my own, which meant I made every mistake that comes with trying to figure things out without direction. Looking back, those struggles shaped me — they taught me what it feels like to love something but not fully understand how to grow within it.

My high school career reflected that same underdog path. I played freshman basketball, got cut my sophomore year, and had to fight my way back. As a junior, I played both JV and varsity, and that season became my best year in high school. It wasn’t because of awards or recognition — I never had any big accomplishments. The real change was internal. My obsession to get better grew tremendously, and I started to realize that growth came from consistency, detail, and relentless effort.

I eventually went on to play JUCO basketball, proving to myself that perseverance could still create opportunity. I even took it a step further and accomplished my goal of playing pro in Girona, Spain — a place where, ironically, my love for the game began to fade.

But that experience didn’t end my relationship with basketball. Instead, it transformed it. I took everything I learned — the setbacks, the mistakes, the loneliness, and the growth — and used it to fuel a new purpose.

Today that purpose lives through Overly Dedicated Basketball. I have worked with top NBA players, all american collegiate players, and (my favorite) helped countless players receive D1 - D3 scholarships.

My day-to-day is now centered around being the mentor I once needed. Finding driven, hungry athletes and helping guide them in the right direction so they can maximize their potential and succeed on all levels.

Basketball Isn’t Random.
It’s Layered.

Every Detail You Ignore Becomes A Missing Puzzle Piece Later.
That’s Why Some Players Look “Talented” But Inconsistent.
They Built Highlights… Not A Full Picture.

The Players Who Last?
They Obsess Over Each Piece.
And Eventually, Everything Starts To Fit.

Before results show up…
you have to show up.

Before confidence shows up…
you have to put the work in.

No reps = no progress.

Ground Zero is:
• Holding your balance
• Keeping the ball on line
• Finish with a clean fluid extension

If you are consistently unable to get to “ground zero” then anything farther out is built on compensation, not skill.

Paying attention in training is not just about “listening” — it’s about being mentally present, intentional, and connected to purpose.

The mental reps, are just as important as the physical ones. If over looked it will lead to late rotations, poor shot selection, and being a step behind the play etc…

Practice / Training is about recognizing patterns, this eliminates panic and anxiety during games. This is why I believe attention is a skill, and it can be trained.

The earlier we can instill this fundamental skill, the greater advantage we create in the youth… on and off the court.

I know things aren’t turning out the way you’ve planned... but please understand that everything will work out better than you can ever imagine if you KEEP STACKING DAYS ‼️

The Goal Isn’t To Hit The Defender Hard , It’s To Control The Contact That Is Inevitable.

1. Attack the defender’s body
• Don’t drift wide, that creates load.
• Drive laterally into the defender’s chest or hip.

2. Initiate the bump before the gather
• Make contact before you pick the ball.
• This knocks the defender slightly off balance.

3. Strong last step
• Wide, powerful final step to maintain balance.

4. Two-foot or inside-foot takeoff
• Two feet = more balance and power.
• Inside foot works well when finishing around a contest.

5. Finish through the contact
• Finish high, soft, and controlled.

When your hips drift forward or backward instead of staying stacked, everything above them has to compensate. That usually means:
• Late release
• Inconsistent arc
• Pulling the ball
• Misses left or right

Good shooters don’t reach with their hips — they load and lift straight up.
Hips under shoulders. Shoulders under the ball.
That’s how you create repeatable balance and a clean release.

Fix the hips, and the shot cleans itself up.
Lock in your base. Stack your body. Shoot straight.
