Real talk: Yesterday and today have been a lot. 🍌 We had a planned (but still stressful!) eye surgery in my family AND I was navigating the learning curve of editing in a brand new program. 🤯

To say my nervous system is "frazzled" would be an understatement. I suspect yours might be, too. 🤎

Which is exactly why this week’s new class is so needed. Let’s do it together.

🌿 NOW LIVE: Evening Yoga Flow: Decompress After a Stressful Day.

This 20-minute practice is your bridge between the chaos of your day and the peace of your night. Grab a pillow, put on your comfiest clothes, and find the link [in my bio/below]. See you on the mat!

Editing the new video right now! If your day is feeling a little chaotic or behind schedule like mine, consider this your sign to take a deep breath with me. We need to give ourselves a little grace.

Keep an eye out for a brand new evening decompression flow dropping soon (depending on how today goes 🤪).

BUT I will see you on the mat!

Do you just want to scream when yet another person tells you to "just rest, do nothing, you'll feel better"??

I don't know what you think when you hear that, but for me, it was always: If I do nothing, who is going to do the something?

The weight of the guilt of doing nothing when you feel like you should be doing something—it just sits right there, doesn't it?

But what if I told you that this "doing nothing" is actually doing something incredibly important?
I know it’s hard to believe. I struggled deeply with the guilt of taking time for myself and for "doing nothing." But I stuck with it, and I kept telling myself that this time on the mat was actually a form of medicine for my nervous system.

In time, I began to notice a shift. I was showing up better in my life. I was more present, more calm, and more resilient. The guilt dissipated. Now? I actually feel a little guilty if I don't practice 😉.

My latest YouTube class, Yoga for Chronic Fatigue, is 20 minutes of pure "doing nothing" for the outside world, so you can do something essential for yourself.

Come join me on the mat. The link is waiting for you https://youtu.be/hzl2UI-miZ4 🤍

My schedule completely blew up before 8:00 AM today. 🤯

My plan was simple: pick up my grandson, drive an hour, and then drive another half hour to meet my other grandson at the playground. I was okay with the driving, even though I woke up exhausted and was already running late.

Then the text came. My son forgot to take the car seat out of his wife's car.

Suddenly, my morning turned into: drive to get his key, drive to her workplace, drive back to the house to get the car seat, and then get my grandson.

Instantly, the stress skyrocketed. I felt my shoulders lifting toward my ears, my chest tightening, and my jaw clenching tight.

When we have stressful days, this is exactly what happens. Our bodies tense up and turn in on themselves. It isn't a conscious choice; it happens naturally because our nervous system goes into protection mode against the chaos. The exact same thing happens when we are chronically tired.

It is on days like this when we need to actively let our bodies know it is safe to release. It is safe to let go.

My latest class, Yoga for Chronic Fatigue, is just the release you need. It is 20 minutes of pure self-care, completely on the floor, with absolutely zero expectations except that you rest.

If your morning blew up today too, let's reset together. The link is waiting for you https://youtu.be/hzl2UI-miZ4 🤍

What if Monday is allowed to be gentle? ✨

Hi! I'm so glad you're here. If this is your first time finding my page, let me introduce myself. My name is Alicia, and I've been practicing yoga for over 30 years.

It was only a few years ago that I decided to turn my love of yoga into teaching. This was mostly because I had been going through some health issues of my own, and I discovered nervous system yoga. It taught me how to actually regulate my nervous system and became a massive part of my healing journey.

Now, I share these exact practices with you over on YouTube at Sovereign Yoga School. No pressure, no judgment, and no expectation of perfection—just room to breathe.

My newest class is Yoga for Chronic Fatigue, a completely floor-based practice made specifically for those days when you just can't (trust me, I've been there).

Here'svthe link for you https://youtu.be/hzl2UI-miZ4
Come rest with me. 🤍

How does the pressure of hustling come Monday morning affect your day when you are chronically tired or your physical battery is already low?

For me, if I immediately get up and rush into my day, that heaviness drags me down. I'm less productive, my brain is foggy, and I'm less motivated. I definitely eat less healthy, too, since my body is craving quick energy and I just don't have it to give.

So, what do you do?

What I do is prepare whatever I can on Sunday night so Monday morning isn't so crazy. Then, on Monday morning, I take 20 minutes to set my nervous system up and recharge my battery.

One of the best shapes to care for your low battery and gently move into your day is Supported Child’s Pose. It’s a soft way to use your breath to open the spine, expand the back body, and gently stretch the hips and glutes.

My latest class on YouTube does exactly this. Come practice with me as we move lovingly into our day. No standing, no rushing—just 20 minutes of care. The link is waiting for you right here https://youtu.be/hzl2UI-miZ4 🤍

I used to have a 9-5 job, and when Sunday came around I always felt rushed—like I HAD to finish EVERYTHING before Monday morning and the work week began. The pressure I put on myself was unbearable.

Then someone said something to me that stuck with me. They said: Everything will still be there tomorrow.

I know, it sounds a little corny, but when you think about it, it’s true (with the exception of emergencies, of course). Whatever you think you have to do today... do you? Really? It will still be there tomorrow, and maybe it isn’t as important as you think it is.

We put so much pressure on ourselves about how things "should" be, but it’s just something we make up in our heads.

Maybe it's time to ease up on yourself. Maybe you just do the one load of necessary laundry (because you do need a clean shirt with no mustard stain on it for work 🤔) and leave the rest for later.

Use that extra time to give yourself some much-needed "me time." I’ve got the absolute best self-care video waiting for you on my channel right now: Yoga for Chronic Fatigue (yeah, I feel it too).

Head to the link https://youtu.be/hzl2UI-miZ4 to check it out and slide onto the floor for 20 minutes of relief. Until our paths cross again here on the mat... let the rest of the to-do list wait. 🤍

What does a "zero pressure" practice look like in your life?

In my life, zero pressure in a practice means perfectly imperfect. There is nothing and no one (there truly are no yoga police 👮‍♀️🚨) to force you into what they believe is the "correct" way to be in a pose.

There is no absolute "correct" way to be in any shape. There is only the way your body goes, and only what feels good to you today (maybe tomorrow will be different, who knows? 🤷).

In my classes, I want everyone to practice listening to their own body and moving into shapes that work for them. I am a no-pressure teacher. If you want to stay in a pose that feels great to you, go for it! Skip a shape, rest, or pick back up whenever you are ready.

If you are ready to drop the pressure to perform on the mat, my new 20-minute floor practice, Yoga for Chronic Fatigue: Gentle Energy Recovery, is waiting for you on YouTube.

No judgment, no standing, just 20 minutes of listening to your body. Click the link https://youtu.be/hzl2UI-miZ4 to join me. Until our paths cross again here on the mat... remember that you are already enough, exactly as you are. 🤍
