"I've got such a busy day, I don't have time to roll out my mat." 😩

How many times have I said this to myself? How many leaves are on a tree? That's about how many!

How many times have I let it actually stop me? Honestly, not that many. I'm serious!

Even when I think it, I know I'll feel better and have a calmer, more focused day if I just do it anyway.

What is one excuse that usually stops you from getting on the mat?

Remember, there's always a quick practice waiting for you—like the new 20-minute Somatic Yoga for Body Awareness on my channel. Comment BODY and I'll send the link to you!

There are days when I am so tired I can't keep my head up, much less get any work done.

It's no secret I have migraines. The days I feel overly fatigued are signs from my body that a migraine is approaching 😫

On these days, I don't react with force. I don't make myself work or "do" anything. I stop and rest. I give my body what it needs. Sometimes it's sleep. Sometimes it's gentle somatic movement.

I listen to what my system is asking for and give it that, instead of ignoring the signs and pushing through.

Share with me one small signal your body gives you when it's time to slow down and rest.

And if that signal calls for some gentle movement, try my new class, Somatic Yoga for Body Awareness. It’s live on YouTube now—link to my channel is in my bio!

When my muscles feel really tight, holding a static pose can be hard. I feel like I'm straining to get into the shape—almost forcing myself into it.

But when I move dynamically through the shape, like flowing forward and backward, my muscles respond completely differently. I almost feel like they smile 😃—it loosens everything up and allows me to move deeper naturally.

Next time you try a static stretch and it feels forced or tight, try moving around instead. Flow forward and backward, take circles, or add any sway that feels natural in your body.

I just dropped a brand new class on YouTube: Somatic Yoga for Body Awareness. It's a 20-minute practice to help you tune into your body. Comment BODY and I'll send the link directly to your inbox!

Choppy seas? 🌊

That's what it can feel like when you're unsteady in a transition like Low Lunge to Half Splits. You're wobbly and your breath is choppy.

What can you do?

First, find your foundation. Walk your front foot out a bit wider to the side.

Next, check your back shin—angle it slightly like a kickstand to give yourself a wider base.

Now, inhale slowly and rise up at the exact same slow speed of your breath. Take your time; there is no rush.

Reach the top. Then exhale, lower your arms down just as slowly as you shift your hips back and lengthen through your front leg.

Your breath is your anchor. ⚓️

This slow breathing and fluid, wave-like movement gives your nervous system ongoing feedback and control compared to forcing a deep static stretch.

Comment BODY and I'll send the link to my brand new class (it just dropped today!): Somatic Yoga for Body Awareness. Or head on over to the link in my bio. Let's feel the flow together. 🤍

Did you forget you have a body? 🙀

Just kidding 😂 Of course you didn't.

However, we can get stuck living "in our heads" and ignore what's happening in our bodies.

When I find myself up in my head all day, my body will let me know. Most of the time, I start to feel my muscles tense around my neck, shoulders, and jaw. That's when I know I've got to stop thinking and start feeling.

A quick 30-second somatic pause can completely change how your body and breath feel. One of my favorites is Seated Torso Circles. 🥰 Try them!

Tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. ET, a new class drops on my YouTube channel: Somatic Yoga for Body Awareness. Subscribe so you don't miss it—link is in my bio!

How often do you pause during the day to check in with your body's signals? 🚥

Pay attention to the movement of your ribcage!

Why?

Because the expansion and contraction of your ribs sends direct signals of safety to your brain, helping calm your nervous system.

Placing your palms on your ribs and feeling that expansion on the inhale and softening on the exhale creates a felt sense of containment and safety.

Do you tend to hold your breath in your chest when stressed?

I invite you to try 4 slow cycles of 360-degree rib breathing today if you do (or even if you don’t 😉).

I have a new class dropping tomorrow where we explore this exact breathwork—10:00 a.m. ET on YouTube: Somatic Yoga for Body Awareness. 💫

Does your Tree Pose—or any other balancing pose—look like you’re battling a tornado? 🌪️

We explore steady, approachable balancing in my latest class on YouTube, Daily Yoga for Balance. Comment BALANCE and I'll send you the link directly to your inbox. 🌳

Which slide's tip made the biggest difference for your balance today?

Does your Tree Pose look like you’re battling a tornado? 🌪️

Try this.

Before you shift your weight into one foot, lift the toes of that foot and spread them open like a fan. 🪭

Place your spread toes on the ground.
Press into the three corners of your foot: the big toe mound, pinky toe mound, and the center of your heel. Think of it like a triangle. 🔻

Lift your inner arch up to activate the foot.

Shift your weight to that foot.

By activating your foot first, it helps build better proprioception (awareness of your body in space) before tackling any balance poses.

I invite you to come over to my YouTube channel and practice this with me. My class, Daily Yoga for Balance, is available there. Comment BALANCE and I'll send you the link. 🌳

My Sunday mood: On the outside, I'm full-on in balance poses. On the inside, I'm full-on in Savasana—and it can't get here soon enough. 😂

I love movement, but sometimes the best part of the practice is the permission I give myself to do absolutely nothing for 5 whole minutes.

Sunday debate time ☕👇

Which wins for you on a Sunday morning: movement first, or cup of tea first?

09/06/2026

Settling in for Savasana: "Ahh, 5 minutes of uninterrupted peace & quiet." 🫠

One minute later... "Oops, I forgot to put the laundry in the dryer. I cannot forget to put gas in the car today. What time is it?" 👁

Resting looks easy and effortless from the outside, but sometimes the hardest part of practice is just letting your mind sit still without cracking an eye open to check the clock!

Fidgeting happens, mind wandering happens—it's all part of the process.

How long can you stay in Savasana before your brain starts making a to-do list?
