This special day is about more than baseball and softball. It's about celebrating our athletes, our families, our coaches, and our community.

⚠️ Practice Update ⚠️

Due to Tropical Storm Arthur moving across Louisiana, all practices for this week have been canceled.

Rain out = 🎬 Movie Day Tomorrow!

League participants are invited to join us for the 11:00 a.m. movie showing tomorrow (Thursday, June 18). The league will cover admission and a free popcorn for each registered participant.

⏰ RSVP by 7:00 p.m. tonight so we can make the proper arrangements with Fairview. RSVP using the link in your email.

⚠️ WEATHER UPDATE ⚠️

Due to the threat of tropical weather moving into our area, all Bayou Parish Sports League practices are canceled today. Emails have been sent out.

We will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as we know more over the next few days.

Living in South Louisiana, we knew weather would likely impact some of our summer schedule. That's why our developmental program was designed with flexibility in mind. We'll adjust, pivot, and make the most of every opportunity to keep our athletes learning and developing throughout the season.

In the meantime, players can work on throwing mechanics, glove work, hitting fundamentals, and game awareness at home.

Stay safe, stay hydrated, and we'll see everyone back on the field soon! ⚾🥎

⚾🥎 WHAT A DAY! 🥎⚾

Draft Day is officially in the books, and what an incredible day it was!

First, thank you to all of our players, parents, coaches, and volunteers who came out and made the day such a success. It was HOT🥵 but the excitement and energy from everyone involved made it all worthwhile.

We had an amazing turnout with over 100 young athletes participating throughout the day. It was great meeting so many families, answering questions, and seeing the excitement on our players' faces as they took the field.

Our coaches had the opportunity to evaluate players, get to know them, and begin building what we know will be a fun, competitive, and development-focused season. Most importantly, we saw tremendous enthusiasm, effort, and sportsmanship from our athletes.

📣PRACTICES WILL BEGIN ON TUESDAY!

Parents, you will receive an email tomorrow regarding team assignments, schedules, and additional league information. We planned to send these out tonight but we came home to a frozen AC unit. Nonetheless, we are looking forward to the season ahead.

This is just the beginning of something special. We are incredibly grateful for the support from communities across the parish and can't wait to see our athletes learn, grow, and make memories this summer.

⚾🥎 THE COUNTDOWN IS ON! 🥎⚾

Tomorrow, we officially kick off the inaugural season of Bayou Parish Sports League, a community led developmental league in St. Mary Parish.

What started as a vision to provide more opportunities for youth athletes across our parish is about to become a reality, and we couldn't be more excited.

✅ 15 Teams and counting.........

✅ Players from communities all across the parish

✅ Dedicated coaches committed to player development

✅ A summer filled with opportunities for learning, growth, confidence, and fun

This season isn't just about baseball and softball. It's about creating an environment where young athletes can develop skills, build friendships, gain confidence, and fall in love with the game.

A huge thank you goes out to our incredible coaching staff, volunteers, parents, and supporters who have helped make this possible. The excitement surrounding this season has been amazing, and we're just getting started!

🕙 10-12pm (Baseball ⚾️)
2-4pm (Softball 🥎)
5-7pm (14u-16u Softball 🥎)

All players should bring:
✔️ Glove
✔️ Bat
✔️ Water bottle
✔️ Positive attitude and lots of energy!

Softball players should also bring their face mask for evaluations. Shorts can be worn.

Draft Day is an important step in creating balanced teams and ensuring every athlete has the best possible experience this season. It's also a great opportunity for players to meet coaches and begin their journey with the league. It is NOT MANDATORY; but highly encouraged.

☀️💧 SUMMER SAFETY STARTS BEFORE PRACTICE! 💧☀️

As temperatures continue to rise, keeping our athletes safe is a team effort.

We've put together a Summer Safety Newsletter filled with important information for parents and athletes, including:

✅ Hydration tips
✅ Heat illness warning signs
✅ How to prepare before practice
✅ Injury prevention strategies
✅ Healthy pre- and post-practice nutrition ideas
✅ Important parent reminders

One of the biggest takeaways: Hydration starts long before your child steps onto the field. Drinking water throughout the day, getting proper rest, and eating a healthy meal or snack before practice can make a huge difference.

Please take a few minutes to read through the newsletter and help us keep every athlete safe, healthy, and ready to learn.

🚨 WAITING LIST NOW OPEN! 🚨

The response to our inaugural season has been incredible, and several divisions have reached capacity! 🎉

While we will leave registration open, we have started a WAITING LIST for the following groups that have reached capacity:

⚾️6-8 Baseball- FULL
🥎6-8 Softball- FULL
⚾️9-10 Baseball - FULL
⚾️11-13 Baseball - closing soon; a few spots available

Joining the waiting list gives players the opportunity to be placed on a team as soon as a new team is formed. Registration for our 14u-16u team is growing fast! If you want to get some work in this summer, this is your chance!

A few of our dedicated coaches would like to extend an invitation to 14u-16u softball players to join our developmental league and give this group an opportunity to get some work in this season.

This summer, we will begin hosting workouts and development practice sessions for athletes who are serious about improving their game and competing at a higher level. Our goal is to provide quality instruction, skill development, and competitive training while working toward a potential showcase opportunity at the end of the summer.

This program is ideal for players who are motivated to grow their skills, challenge themselves, and prepare for the next level of competition.

This event gives coaches an opportunity to get to know our players and evaluate their skills so we can create balanced teams focused on development, learning, and fun. Every registered player will be placed on a team.

🥎⚾ SEASON STARTS NEXT WEEKEND!⚾🥎

Our team is working hard behind the scenes to finalize plans for an unforgettable summer filled with learning, growth, friendships, and fun. We can't wait to get everyone together and officially kick off the season!

📣 Draft Day is coming soon! We will announce the date, time, and details as soon as we secure enough field space to accommodate all of our teams. Our goal is to host Draft Day on June 13th or June 14th so save those dates.

🏟️ We're reaching out to our community for a little help. If you know of a park, facility, or field complex that may be available on either of those dates, please send us a message. We would love any leads that could help us make this special event happen for our players and families.

Also, our league is growing fast! We are looking for a few coaches and assistant coaches for:
