As our softball season comes to an end, I want to take a moment to thank the incredible community of Carteret County.

This season, our girls made history. They broke the school record for wins, won a conference championship, a regional championship and finished as State Runner-Up. While those accomplishments will always be remembered, what I’ll remember most is the overwhelming support shown to these young ladies every step of the way.

To the parents, grandparents, families, alumni, students, faculty, staff, local businesses, and fans who packed the stands, traveled to away games, sent messages of encouragement, donated resources, and proudly wore our colors—thank you. You made these girls feel valued, appreciated, and supported.

High school athletics are about much more than wins and losses. They are about teaching young people perseverance, sacrifice, teamwork, leadership, and resilience. This community helped reinforce those lessons by showing our players what it means to belong to something bigger than themselves.

Our girls represented West Carteret High School and Carteret County with pride, class, and determination. They battled until the very last out and gave our community a season to remember. While we fell short of our ultimate goal, there is absolutely no disappointment in what this TEAM accomplished. They inspired all of us and left a legacy that future teams will strive to follow.

On behalf of our coaching staff and players, thank you for believing in these young ladies. Thank you for cheering them on. Thank you for investing in them. And thank you for helping create memories that will last a lifetime.

We may have finished as State Runner-Up, but these young ladies will always be champions in our eyes.

Once a Patriot, always a Patriot.

A few notes for tonight’s game:

-Please park in the student parking lot and enter through the football gate. This is the best way for us to facilitate everyone coming in safely and efficiently. You can pay cash at the gate or you can purchase a ticket here:

-We want this to be an electric atmosphere for everyone involved so please cheer hard for our team and not against our visitors! They were very accommodating to us and treated our team with respect so I want to make sure we pay them the same respect.

-Lastly, I just want to thank everyone for their love and support. It’s means the world to me and to our team ❤️ Our girls have put in a ton of work so let’s focus on supporting them with everything we’ve got 💪🏻
