I took this while I was mowing. I moved Quail into the johnny house in very hot weather! I haven’t lost any and I will start using them in the next few days.

I put Quail in the Johnny House. I did not anticipate doing it on the hottest day of the year. I left the area around the funnel open for a little extra air. I also put a cold pack in there. I have some frozen water bottles to rotate in as well. It is supposed to start cooling down after today.

I made several posts about the Johnny House/Quail Recall Pen that I had built. I used my side by side and pulled it into my front pasture area. I will be putting birds in it tomorrow. I will video that and post it as well.

Johnny pointing and littermate, Knot, backing. These guys are six months old and I think they are doing a great job.

Knot points and Johnny comes in and backs. The three pups had got to the point that they were hard to catch. I got them in the yard with a rope and an ecollar and worked on their listening skills. They did much better handling and were no problem to catch at the end. Dale Smith

Second find for Clark. As we got into this area, about a hundred doves flushed. When Clark established point, Bonnie was nowhere to be seen. I’m sure she was chasing doves. I was going to flush this bird and go looking for her, but I saw her coming back. I waited for her to come into back before flushing the bird. Dale Smith
