Game Goes Down To The Wire As North Central Cyclones (Chuck) 12U Loses To Valparaiso Americans 11U Blue On Final Play

A walk-off left North Central Cyclones (Chuck) 12U on the wrong end of an 18-16 defeat to Valparaiso Americans 11U Blue on Sunday at Crown Point Sportsplex. Valparaiso Americans 11U Blue were down 16-14 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Jonny R hit a grand slam to right field.
Mallachi C homered in the first, third, and fifth innings. Overall the switch hitter went 3-3 while driving in three and scoring five runs.
A solo home run to right field by Mallachi put North Central Cyclones (Chuck) 12U on the board in the top of the first.
Daniel F doubled down the left field line, which helped Valparaiso Americans 11U Blue tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.
North Central Cyclones (Chuck) 12U took the lead, 4-1, in the top of the second thanks to singles by Maverick H, and Gunner K.
Calvin H singled to right field, which helped Valparaiso Americans 11U Blue tie the game at four in the bottom of the second.
North Central Cyclones (Chuck) 12U took the lead in the top of the third. Mallachi hit a solo home run to right field, to give North Central Cyclones (Chuck) 12U the lead, 5-4.
Luke R doubled down the right field line on an 0-2 count, which helped Valparaiso Americans 11U Blue tie the game at five in the bottom of the fourth.

Valparaiso Americans 11U Blue flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the seventh, scoring five runs on one hit to take the lead, 18-16. The biggest blow in the inning was a grand slam to right field by Jonny on the seventh pitch of the at-bat that drove in four.
