☀️ Happy Saturday from the herd!

The horses get their fly masks on and turned out to pasture from paddock.

The goats and Dexter sleep closed in their shelter because, coyotes. So, they get let out in the morning.

Everyone usually greets us with a smile ready to start their day. ☀️

Smile it's humpday!!!!

Dexter is in full shedding mode. Donkeys typically shed in June through July. Where the horses usually start in February/March through May.

This means he gets extra brushing and attention, and that is worth smiling about.

Nothing overly exciting but something I am proud of.

Meesha started doing this last summer. Walking next to me after a ride. I let go of the reigns to see what she would do. And she follows me like a champ, 100% by choice. Stopping when I stop, even to shut the gate with tempting grass near by. Or when we get close to the barn where she knows her stall is. She chooses to walk beside me.

I pride myself on mutual respect with the horses and it sure makes me happy when it shows. 🐎

They love making new friends especially with lots of treats.

When you book a farm visit with us you feed and play with the goats, donkey and horses! Not only do you get to experience all the animals but you don't have to share. As all of our bookings are private.

☀️This is where the horses spend their days from April to October. And, how we got our name, Mustang Meadows! ☀️

About 7am til 3pm, they graze, nap, play and get to simply be horses. They come in at 3pm for grain, stall naps and a break from the bugs and heat. Sometimes they stay in overnight but more often they go back out to their paddock (not pasture) around 7pm with hay for the night. Until the cycle starts again in the morning.

🐎Our mustangs are what started this journey and they sure love their meadow! 🐎
