One of the last announcements for the year:

We will have equipment check in tomorrow 10/16 right after school from four to around 5 o’clock. I’m not plan on us taking any longer than an hour. We need to do a little bit of Fieldhouse cleanup, as well as getting all the pads checked in to the best of our ability. If any of the players are unable to come in on Thursday after school, we can make specific arrangements to get equipment turned in at a later date.

Speaking on behalf of all of the staff, we could not asked for better support from the parents and our community is a whole for this season. We finished five and one only allowing 34 points throughout the entire season during the “A” game. The coaches are super proud of the hard work that the seventh and eighth graders all brought to the table and we look forward to seeing this eighth grade class have a ton of success in the high school program but we’re also very excited to have the seventh grade group back again next year to continue to improve upon the things that we needed to get better at during this season.

Final practice of the year will be today from 4:00 till 5:15 PM. Start and end at the fieldhouse

Still looking for 1 adult for Chain Gang this week. Thanks to Zac Czerniewski and Brad Ellis for volunteering already.

There will be a meal for the boys after the game tomorrow night, so parents plan for there to be a slight delay post game for the boys to share a meal together.

Game 6 is versus Salisbury MS starting at 5:30 at Home. We will get at least a 5th quarter from Salisbury as they are short on extra bodies but wanted to get as much from their last game as possible too.

Announcement:

Out of the kindness of one of our team parents, the football team will be getting fed after our game on Tuesday night as we wrap up our season against Salisbury. Please plan for your athlete to stay a little longer after the game for this meal.

Games start at 5:30, still looking for 2 adults for the chain gang crew for Tuesday.

Equipment check in/ last practice is being scheduled for Thursday, 10/16 after school till about 5:15. Players need to return all cloth items washed. Items to turn in:
- game pants
- practice pants
- practice jerseys
- any pants pads that were given out (knee pads especially)
- helmet
-shoulder pads

The whole coaching staff very much appreciates everything the parents and community have done to support the boys this season, and we are super thankful to have a solid backing for the team.

Please reach out if you would like to help with chain gang crew so we can have that group in place prior to Tuesday

Updates for Football Practice times the rest of this week, 10/8-10/10

We will be done with football by 5:45 each day this week.

This really comes into play Friday since we have a home football game, so that will affect pickup locations as the back parking lot will be closed off. Pickup will need to happen in front of schools or behind the HS.

LAST GAME is this Tuesday, 10/14 as we take on the Salisbury Panthers starting at 5:30pm.

Much appreciation for the parents who came out to help in the concession stand last night for the JV football as well as HS softball games happening on our campus. It was a very pleasant experience and the coaching staff appreciates the continued support from our families and community!

It’s game day! Kickoff is at 5:30, and we will be playing some extra quarters after the first game.

I’m still looking to confirm the Chain Gang crew for tonight. I have 1 for sure (thanks Travis Knoepflien) but need 2-3 more to make sure the night goes smoothly. Thanks in advance!

Attention!

We have a JV game at home tonight, so that means a couple things:

1) the back parking lot will be closed off around the fieldhouse due to that game so drop off and pickup might need to happen either behind the HS or in front of the MS. Please communicate with your athletes about where you will be doing pickup since the back gates will be closed.

2)we are working the concession stand for the JV Football game. I’m in need of 2-3 more adults and a few kids to help out. Roughly looking at 4:30 till 7:15ish to include cleanup time. Please reach out to either Coach Hasekamp or Coach Falloon if you are able to help.

3) Practice will run from 4:10-5:15 today as we have teacher meetings so that’s the reason for the delay in start time but the goal is to be in and out in about an hour.

Due to the Away game at Mark Twain tonight, we will be totally done with practice around 5:30 PM to allow for travel for the families attending the game.

I am looking for 3-4 dads/grandpas/uncles/ etc. to help out with chain gang next Tuesday in our game vs Winfield. Please message Coach Hasekamp through FB messenger or send an email to [email protected]

The games start at 5:30pm, and we will be playing at least 1 if not 2 extra quarters of football.

Another night of MCMS Football lead to 2 wins for our MS Wildcat Football team! We blanked North Callaway 28-0 in the A game to continue the shutout streak, and the B group gutted out a 13-12 win on the last play of the extra quarters.

Great Night of football, We are back defending our home turf the next two weeks as we host Winfield MS next week and Salisbury in 2 weeks.

We will be looking for some parent volunteers to work chains at those games so be on the lookout for a post about this.

JUST A HEADS UP:

The road crews are paving out in front of the schools today (finishing the turn lanes and potentially paving the shoulders) so please allow for a little extra time getting to drop off for practice as well as pickup after practice today.

Practice will still run from 4-5, then pictures from 5-6 this evening

Tuesday is our last road game of the season. We will get out of class at 3:10, so any food deliveries need to be to the MS office by 3:00 to ensure the boys get their stuff before we leave. Goal is to be off campus before school releases for the day.

Games will happen at North Callaway High School in Kingdom City. The “A” game is at 5:30, and we will be playing at least 2 additional quarters of a “B” team game after the completion of the first game.

We hope to have a great crowd as the boys are working towards finishing the road games of the year undefeated and continuing the shutout streak! We appreciate all the support from our community and schools as we get into the back half of our schedule.

The boys were informed of this today:

Due to homecoming activities and a long few weeks of practice, we will not have practice after school tomorrow, 9/26. The boys can go home after school!

Pictures are on Monday, 9/29 during practice time. The boys need to make sure that they bring their game pants so that they can be properly dressed for pictures.

Great week of preparation for our last road trip of the season next week as we head to North Callaway on Tuesday night, 9/30. We will be playing at least 6 quarters, so that’s a great opportunity for the kids to get a lot of game time!
