UPDATE: What a day volunteering at the 4th of July Lawn Party. Meeting so many people we forgot to take pics. However, one very nostalgic inspirational moment that stood out. An 84 years “young” gentleman spots our soda booth “Monterey Wrestling.” He beelines to us, with his family, all trying to keep up with him. Coach Berto helps him find his team pic. One of the first early teams back in 1961 under Coach Ken White! There we spot him in the team photo, and his brother. Hopefully we made his 4th of July experience awesome. We are so inspired, so amazed, of course we forget to get his name. After some research I believe I may have identified them both. Herminio Goltiao, Jr. (rt side of pic) and his younger brother Rudolfo (lft side). It’s moments like this, that make the fundraising efforts that much more meaningful.

Friend’s, parents and wrestlers.
Our next fund-raiser is right around the corner. We need volunteers to help sell sodas and water at the City of Monterey’s 4th of July Backyard Barbecue. We have two shifts from 8:00-1:00am and 1:00-6:00pm. This is always a perfect way to support the team and spend a beautiful day with family and friends on Independence Day.
We typically rely on you, the wrestling community to lend a hand by donating no more than $50 worth towards bottled soda and water or you can donate cash. Remember all funds raised come right back to the team. The team and coaches highly appreciate any donation you can make.
